Anyone Fancy a Boring Baydale Day?

[ QUOTE ]
Oh my dear god. I'm shaking just reading that

I am so pleased you and Helen are unharmed, and fingers tightly crossed for Hattie. HUGE hugs to you all. xxx

Words out of my mouth!!

Well done all of you for coping with all that - although I think your right...we do what we have to do when we have to!

Horses are amazing creatures, no wonder we love them so much

Vibes to Hattie, Helen and you
xx

crikey someone is looking after you - I know it wasn't ideal but jeez it could have been even worse! Huge hugs to Hattie baby hattie and of course you and Helen, it is a huge shock and that feeling when you see them dripping with blood going towards traffic just cannot be compared.

So glad that help was there when you need it, you must have plenty of karma points!! Keeping my fingers firmly crossed for you all!

OMG - that is so horrible. Biggest vibes for Hattie and baby. (and you and Helen)

did police do forensic stuff to match up paint on trailer with VW??

wry laugh about "composed" old chap! composed or just out of it??? (is that ageist?)

Blimey Baydale, that has sent shivers down my spine, thank god your all ok and fingers crossed for Hattie and little Hattie,
Lots of love and get well soon vibes
Tizzy x

How in god's name did it happen?!
frown.gif
And how did you manage not to be totally hysterical? What an awful awful thing to happen, i'm so sorry. I do hope that the foal is still ok and am sending massive vibes for the mare to be ok.

Have some hugs ((((((((((((((((((((((()))))))))))))))))))))

Dear God, what a dreadful thing to happen, no wonder you still feel queasy, you're probably still in shock. Very best vibes and hugs to you, Helen, Hattie and baby H. x

OMG. Like others it has sent shivers down my spine. I just thank God that you are all OK and hope the mare recovers well. Sending as many healing vibes as is necessary for both yourselves and the mare.

How very scary!! Sounds like the old guy wasn't paying attention??
Does kind of restore your faith in the human race tho, sounds like everyone rallied round to help
smile.gif

Fingers crossed for the mare tho!!

OMG! What an awful AWFUL experience!! I was utterly horrified reading that!!! Fingers crossed for Hattie and foal. PF was 6 mths in foal when she did a back flip out of the jumping lane (she was grazing in there) and broke her cheekbone. The Little Cigar made it so hopefully your little one will too.

I hope the people in the VW admit they were at fault?

That is my worst worst nightmare. Poor little horsey, and poor you.

I am one of those souls that goes on most outings on my own....I hope this never ever happens to me....or anyone else.

x

Oh gosh, I was expecting some story about a bucking bronco of a baby that you "weren't sitting on honest 'Guv" or similar!

Poor Hattie and poor you and your friend. Glad you are all ok and fingers crossed Hattie's foal is too. Every person's worst nightmare scenario whilst towing, as no matter how careful you are, you can't help what other muppets on the road will do.

I hope the police can investigate the cause of the accident and your friend can claim on the other driver's insurance for vets fees etc. What a star the other trailer driver was helping you out and also Hattie is a superstar to reload again so well.

Try take it easy (since when have you ever done that though?!) and hope you and your friend get over the shock ok.

OMG makes my blood run cold, I really need to win the lottery so I can upgrade to a lorry.
I really hope the mare is OK and recovers well with foal intact.

What a horrendous day. I really hope Hattie recovers well and her baby is safe and sound after all that trauma.
Are you and the driver ok?

Am speculating entirely but having been involved in a horrific accident in which an elderly driver very nearly killed someone, it wouldn't surprise me at all if they had caused the accident. Whilst there are many perfectly capable elderly people driving I would bet there are a large number who should not be on the roads. Is scary.
Hope the police board gets some response and the insurance companies act swiftly. Out of interest, in a horse/trailer accident, who would pay vets bills, horse insurance or car??

What a horrendous thing to happen. How could a car just run into the back of a trailer like that in good conditions in the middle of the day????
Poor mare, thank goodness she is basically ok, I really hope she's still in foal too.

Whay a horrible, horrible thing to happen and what a brave mare to get back on a trailer again immediately afterwards! I really hope she and foal are ok. I feel sick even thinking of it so can't imagine how you and your friend must be feeling. Take it very easy for a few days because the shock must be horrendous. Rescue Remedy too. x

That did make me laugh Avenger. Have I got plenty of good karma points or are they bad karma points?

I'd say I'm normally a glass half empty kinda person but today I'm more glass half full, as I think we were bloomin lucky.

OMG what an awful experience, poor poor mare!! Sending massive vibes for her and her unborn baby, and cuddles for you and Hattie x

Just had an update and the vet thinks the foal is ok
grin.gif
, it's too low down in her tummy to be able to hear a heartbeat but the umbilical cord is ok (apologies to any vets reading this for lack of technicality

), and he thinks if it was damaged she'd be trying to abort it by now. He might have to drill into her jaw to secure the fracture better but will leave her for the next few days before he does anything further after all the trauma she's been through.

Apparently she was a bit stiff when she came off the lorry but went straight into the stable, ignored the scrummy haylage and tucked into her straw bed.
