that depends, will he pay for himself? haha
hmmm no comment. However your username is weesophz and he's called wee barney its fate!
I know its personal opinion, and of no importance to the wellbeing of the horse, but I do think thoroughbreds with manes left to grow long look absolutely dreadful, no exceptions, sorry!!!

Even pre. Just don't like long manes. My retired mare has hers neatly pulled and thinned just like my tb. Cob is hogged. Personal preference but so much smarter imo.
How could anyone possibly think that his long, blond mane doesn't become him?

I am so glad I have an Arab so excusable to grow although the yard owner crops his tail every so often and thinks I haven't noticed!
I really don't like hogged manes, I think they're nasty. But I wouldn't go on a thread of people showing off their hogged manes to announce that!?
He's retired too but has a very important babysitting job to do and is worth his weight in gold:

My horse, but before I had her. Mane is even longer now, her forelock is to the end of her nose.

Unless a mane is good and thick I would rather keep it shorter when a horse is in work, thin straggly manes are neither here nor there.

Our old orange boy (sadly no longer with us) was also a candidate for 'worst forelock ever':

It was pull his mane and die, basically, so we never bothered. Sometimes we'd take scissors to it :strikemedownnow: but mostly we'd leave him hairy.
We've just got his mate left now out of our TBs. His mane gets to here and then stops:
