many, many years ago, Dad and i were at the livery yard when David Essex turned up with his daughter to try the YO horse.

so long ago, he was still famous then

I have had 'dealings' with a MASSIVELY famous person (world famous - not just a 'now' famous person)

So WHO was this famous person you are talking about.

Oh yes, and I used to keep a horse at Peter Murphy's yard near Preston, YONKS ago. thats not overly impressive though, as odly enough, horses is his business.

When I worked at a trekking centre in Wales, the chap that plays Ken Barlow brought his family to see the horses as i think they were on holiday, and I think his family are horsey. they were all very nice.

Thats as far as my famous list goes im afraid

had Tina Cook come and view one, Leslie Law and Nick Burton missed out on buying Woodsides Ashby from me, sold one to one of John Whitaker's owners... used to ride a horse for George Baker (Inspector Wexford)

nobody properly famous though (ie outside the horse world, in the real world!!)

so who was it????? Give us a hint!

Famous people dont get me excited at all. I find it so funny that peopleget themselves all worked up over someone just because they appear on TV. They are just the same as most people, just usually with more money. Im not impressed by fame and fortune unless accompanied by integrity, talent, knowledge or some other desirable trait. That is a more important value to me than being famous.

we had someone very famous children come for a pony club rally at our yard, rather unnerving having bodyguards watch you ride.

ETA non horsey but i served preston from the ordinary boys at work and also someone from the bill (dunno who but apprenntly he is very famous)

The girl who played Danielle, Ronnie's daughter in Eastenders came to see my horses the other day............although she is my OH's little sister so i guess it doesn't count!

Somehow I don't think anyone would want to view my 28yo cranky tb or my one-eyed donkey pony, let alone someone famous

Someone has just pi$$ed on my chips !!! the famous person i have done business with has been mentioned on here by someone else.
i was so starstruck that when i got the cheque, i took AGES to cash the cheque, then when i had to cash it, i took a photocopy of it. I was a little starstruck, even though I didn't meet this person.

my YO had mary king come look at one of hers. and she apparantly weed in her stable to as we dont have a toilet

Years ago I had arranged to go and view a mare and the night before I had a phone call from the seller to say that the Queen was having the mare on trial so my viewing was cancelled!

The owner said she would call me if the trial didnt work out, but I never heard any more so I can safely say the Queen pipped me to the post on that one

This person has all of these things, especially talent

I don't wish to say who because of the sale, but I thought it was nice to hear that extreme fame has gone to neither of these people's (husband or wife) heads. My OH meets quite a few and not all reports are quite so favourable. Politeness costs nothing and the pony is a genuine all round sweetheart of very modest price for her suitability so not a case of we can afford it, let's go mad, either.

I am thrilled for the pony as the home would be ideal for every other, important reason. Knowledge, understanding, permanence and love. I also know if they were not so nice, even if they had offered double, ponio would stay right where she is!
