Came home today and I think someone has stolen our land and left big holes full of water... I have to say it has got a lot worse this evening too

Ooops that doesn't look too good. I am lucky in that our land is on sand so drains beautifully. We have slightly muddy gateways and grass is lookinga bit sad but other than that we are OK.

yep!! the foals have a giant pond in theres which they have been playing in today! in some ways we are lucky in that we have the ancient drainage system of ridges & furrows so they can still get out of the mud, but when they come charging through the furrows you get soaked!
& yes we had a massive snow/rain blizzard this afternoon which easily dumped a few more inches of water on the fields!
roll on spring!!!

I think mine is worse! This photo was taken last week after the 2 boys had decided to break out of it to get to their spring paddock!!!!!

Just imagine what it now looks like with all this rain!!!!!!

Tomorrow I'm sectioning mine off as my divvy mare has made a right mess of it by the gated area - over the last 24 hours she has made it into soup as she's in season and pacing. Worried though that she'll now just churn it further back, I'm going to have to start keeping her in more.

I feel your pain.

oh my word!!! Mine crashed through the electric fencing today too as her field mates went out for a hack. YO found her outside the stables area beside herself as she's in season. Horse keeping is getting harder.

Well I'm glad we're not the only ones with bogs - I was beginning to get paranoid! On the plus side, the ponies are VERY fit after dragging through hock-deep mud...

Nope thankfully we have hills in our field so, although the bits round the gates and stables are bad, on the top of the hill it's ok. hasn't done anything but rain all day today though.

mine looks like your first photo but its sand, and much much smaller, its his winter turnout and its mining, im half tempted to keep him in this weekend as were due some bad storms and were right on the coast. dont know if hel apreciate it though.

I'm on sand and the mud is terrible, my filly got out on to the summer paddock and after racing around with great delight she's churned it up badly, cann't repeat what I'd called her and the weather forecast is bad this weekend, have enough hay for March, then I'm B*****d. What's the betting come mid summer we will be doing rain dances

me too. Ours look just the same, except they are on the side of a hill. Surely gravity would make the water run down the hill?! Apparently my yard is not subject to the laws of physics

my fields are not this bad but the mud is still driving me mad and my poor old boy is fed up too as when i got there to bring him in tonight he had broke his fence and was waiting outside his stable to get in the dry (he has never broke a fence in the 8 years i have owned him)
