I hope that link works ok, it looked exceptionally long!
What do you think of it?
I bought it thinking it was a decent choice, I got it in a sale as my budget didn’t stretch to Rambo but figured this was pretty good.
Im really disappointed :(
The binding round the edges has all curled up, not the end of the world I know but just a bit rubbish. It’s a kind of waffle outer which seems to soak up water, the horse is always bone dry underneath but it’s so heavy and takes an eternity to dry. My normal horsewares are quite literally half the weight (even thicker rugs)
It’s also bit of a weird fit big round the neck and has darts at the base of the neck cover which balloons a little and leaves his lower neck a bit exposed.
Really thought it would be so much nicer.

Hello, I worked for weatherbeeta as an account manager for a long time so I know these rugs inside out. If you contact the retailer you bought it from they shoudk even able help organise a replacement due to the edges curling. That’s definitely a fault.
As for the ‘waffle’ outer - that’s Triple Diamond Weave which is a way of stitching that makes the outer rug incredibly strong and will help retain any rips or tears within the diamonds.
In terms of drying, modern turnout rugs are actually designed to be dried upside down/inside out, so you should find a real difference by flipping it over and drying it that way.
Fit wise, I’ve been part of fit testing and my goodness they are tried on a lot of horses ? however, cuts can’t suit every horse shape. For instance, one of my horses only fits in WB rugs with the Freedom System which is a more forward cut, the others just look ridiculous on him, whereas my last horse fitted every WB rug like a glove. Also worth noting WB and Horseware measure differently - if you’re a 6’6 in HW size down to a 6’3 in WB as the companies measure to different points of the horse.
let me know if I can help anymore ?

Hi, thankyou!
I know they don’t all fit everything, it does fit, it’s just odd!
It’s not so much the time drying, although that is a pain but the sheer weight of it on an old horses back I worry a bit about.
Is the curling a fault? I’ve probably had it too long tbh to return and can’t even think where I ordered it but can check emails and see if I can find out.

Starzaan I have two brand new rugs from WB because I have always liked them and both horses came in with curled up binding today filled with rain!! I also had not noticed that they have done away with the flap that goes over the velcro neck straps which is a shame.
Apart from that I agree with you about the waffle outer it is good and the rain beads on it which is nice as it dries quicker.

It really doesn’t bead on mine though. It appears to just sink in.

I too have a 100g full neck of this exact one, it keeps dry inside.

However, it too has a 'runnel' along the bottom where the binding is as it turned up, very annoying when sodden. Got told it was my fault in storing incorrectly over a 2 week period when not being used. I've flattened it out through this summer, but blow me down, the last inch curled straight up in the 1st rain we had this winter ?

How were you supposed to store it to prevent that? ?

Ive got this rug, Ive had it a couple of years now although when wet it can be heavy, Ive found it to be a really good rug. Ive never used the liners, well I did once and it slid all over but it was bought at a good price as I wanted a detachable necked 100g rug. Mines a bit on the small side now for my then growing girl, so today she had on a PE 100g rug and all the bindings curled up?? Im not a fan Of PE rugs due to the weight but just sharing as the bindings curled on that one too.

I have absolutely no idea!
It was folded, I even put heavy weights on it. Was completely flat and fine..... till it got soaked again and the binding curled back up again ? it's like a gutter and holds water all the time, puddle sitting in it, so even if say, rain stops at lunchtime and winds get up, the rug dries apart from the gutters. I have ended up using clothes pegs to try and flatten it whilst drying out overnight....

My weatherbeeta is all curled up along the edges too and has been since I got it. As others said, water sits in it. Really disappointed with it - bought it last year from sports direct and they were not interested when I called. Had to use it last year and am using it now - if I’d known it was a fault I would have contacted Weatherbeeta . The fittings on are rusting. For £150 plus rug, I am not impressed.

I usually rate weatherbeetas but I bought a new 100g last year ( I think it's the comfitec plus so one of their more expensive ones) the water never beaded on it and when there was prolonged rain it just soaked through and it was really heavy even with a small bit of rain.

I also was really disappointed with it. Previously my weatherbeetas have gone on for years.

Not surprised you are disappointed- shame as it looks nice in the advert. I wouldn’t be happy with the weight in case it madd pressure points on the withers. Have you contacted Weatherbeeta with photos?

I recently bought the plaid one; got it out of the bag yesterday and put it straight on the horse and this morning the binding has curled up
I've had loads of WBs in the past and none of the others have done this

I haven’t contacted Weatherbeeta no, off the back of this I may well do though. I’ve always rated their rugs and have lots of much loved indoor stuff for both my horses.
I can’t find any emails relating to where I actually ordered it sadly.
It’s a strange issue to have ?‍♀

They have a three year warranty on them so definitely take it back and see!

They will help but won’t be able to help directly as your contract of sale is with the retailer you bought it from. If you go back to them, they will liaise with WB who will sort it out for you ?

I have this rug and I only use it occasionally like you I found it heavy and it sits funny on horses shoulder with the hood detached (sits better when attached) but as I am trying to save mane I only use hoods when it’s really wet.

I have this plaid material on my 3 year old comfitem premier lightweight and it’s been fabulous. 3 years old and wash and proofed and horse is always dry underneath, which some no fills can be a bit dodgy. Also have a WB ultra cozi which I really rated. Definitely get in touch with the seller and ask them to sort it.
