**Don't all jump on me for advertising!**
I'm having my mare PTS at the end of the month and want to get away for a few days afterwards so I don;t have to hear the others screaming for her and see her empty stable etc. Had been planning to do a "normal person" break with my OH, but a job opportunity has come up that he can't pass up.

So now I'm at a loose end and was wondering whether any of you would like a hand for a week?
I'm willing to do copious amounts of [****] shovelling, tack cleaning, riding out etc...
I'm 20, enthusiastic and have had horses nearly all my life.
I have experience with quirky horses (esp. polo ponies and racehorses) and previously I've done a fair amount of freelance grooming, and spent time on a P2P yard and a stud (though it was summer so not much foaling experience).
No horsey 'qualifications' as such.
Don't want paying or anything in return, just to be kept busy for a little bit!
I'm based near Gloucester and don't want to travel the length of breadth of the country, but wouldn't mind travelling a fair distance.
Please PM me if you have anything suitable.
Meg x

Will also post in comp riders.

Well M. I'm so sorry that you too are in this position.

If I have any horses lined up to go and see (and one or two I fancy are actually your way), and you're home, I will definately give you a buzz to come with me if you would like.

Would be lovely, in a sad kind of way. I am calling up tomorrow and booking 'it' for the 31st probably, I can't put it off much longer. That gives me a week between her going and my op to occupy myself. I think 'not thinking is going to be the key to survival!

I know exactly how you feel hun. Think that the 31st will be our day as well.

Well, I will be thinking of you.

I wish there was another way, but life won't get any better of either of them.
We are doing the right thing, but knowing that doesn't make it any easier.

Don't want to be morbid, but what will you do with Amy? And how is she going? Cybele will be buried here, and will go by injection with sedation first as she hates vets.

You would be more than welcome to come have a play with T - she should be up to hacking etc by the middle of June. If you like you can teach her to neck rein!!!

ETS: Hope that didn't come across as completely insensitive - will be thinking of you on the 31st, such a horrible and brave decision to make

Be my guest! T won't mind - do her good to have some variety! (Though Im now team and lesson manager for the beginners and novices so it will take a lot to completely convert me

Yep - but I get quite a few free lessons so I really can't complain!!

Bleeding expensive hobby!

I am based in Frampton Cotterell Bristol, and have a 15.3hh TB gelding who could do with some serious excercise so if you are interested pm me. you will be doing me a big favour. Sally

Thankyou!
Am hoping to be able to disappear for the week, come back for my op and be 'fixed' (yeh right, considering the mess they made of me already!) and then knuckle down to getting my two really working and out and about. Seems like forever since I was last out doing things with them.
Hopefully should be able to immerse myself in this breeding thing too....I'll have fences to alter and my new foaling box to paint.
Come July I'll have turned my world around *trying to employ the power of positive thought*
