I hate rubber reins with no leather running through them! They feel like they will just snap when a horse takes a hold!

I have no idea what make my reins are for work but I too have small hands and most reins are too thick, even the racing reins I struggle with so I am always buying my own when I need them replaced. Saying that I own all of my tack for work ?

I like the continental reins with rubber grip, think they're called suregrip. They feel nice and are non bulky, but give good grip. The nylon cored rubber reins are also nice, they're a bit thicker.

Useful thread. I like rubber reins, not keen on rein stops but have small hands. Albion used to a 1/2" which I have had for years but now they only do 5/8" which are just too thick for me. I'm getting mine rerubbered (hopefully local tack shop can get the 1/2" in stock) but I think you can only have them rerubbered so many times - can anyone correct me on this point?

I have some 1/2" biothane but I don't think the grip is great in the rain
