Anyone using a Rhino Original stable rug with liners?

Just seen these online and like the idea that you can add liners to them to change the weight of the rug.

Does anyone use these? Any good?

Can you use more than one liner at a time?

I am looking at the Medium (200g) and see you can buy liners of 100g, 200g, and 300g to add to it.

Looks like a nice rug and good value.....any thoughts?
 
Yep, yep and yep :). Love it. So far I've put 2 liners in it and it works great; I reckon I could put another one in if necessary, no probs. The liners stay put (even if you don't use the loops at the neck) and are nice and lightweight. Would def recommend.
 
I think a lot of Horseware rugs use that system now. TBH I usually keep mine in their Turnouts overnight. But I have a Rambo Duo that has the varying weight liners, and love it. Gives a lot of flexibility. Sometimes I put the liners on under other rugs too and it works fine.

Seems like a good idea, if you particularly want a stable rug. Otherwise, I'd say by the Rambo Duo instead, then you can use it inside or out.
 
I have the heavyweight and will add a liner when it gets colder. Not sure how you would add 2 liners in as you would need extra loops on the rug. As the liners are 'silky' I wouldn't be brave enough to use without the hooks and I think they would slip.

I think the rhino stable rugs are far better than the rambo.
 
My horse is currently wearing a friend's Rambo Duo with two 300g liners on underneath. I was worried about layering them as it means you can't get them through the loops but they don't seem to slip as long as you clip them on at the back. To my mind if you're spending that much money it makes sense for them to wear it all day and all night.

Great info thanks! The Rambo Duo is out of my price range to be honest. And I already have a 350g turnout rug.

But the Rhino Original Medium 200g stable rug I have found for under £60 online. With the liners from about £30.

I figure is I get a 200g rug and a 200g liner I cant turn it from a medium to a heavy and still only need this one rug. I also have a fleece combo which can go underneath as a base layer.

Only trouble being yesterday I bought a stable rug, which is ok but I think this would be way better so I might change it.

Anyone using it on a broad chested cob????
 
Not got a broad chested cob, but my rhino medium weight is nice and generous in the chest department, so you should be fine. Tbh though, I would use it without the fleece as a base layer - the liners stay put on their own, and don't pull back like fleeces can. I use mine with the rambo liners and premier equine ones, and its all good :D
 
Yes I have the mw Rhino Original and use my Rambo Duo liners in it. Works brilliantly (and worked out cheaper when starting from scratch with no rugs)

She's a broad chested ISH and fit's well
 
I use the liner system and love it!! So much easier then having millions of rugs in different weights.

I have successfully used them under other brands of rugs and they have never slipped, as long as they are clipped onto the back of the rug they should stay put, I never attach it at the neck.
 
Sounds fab. I will try it without the fleece then. I am off to hopefully get one tomorrow.

Do you know if they come up big or small? I am trying to decide between the 6ft and 6ft 3! Horse is inbetween.
