I couldnt get it to work on either a hairy cob or thin coated TB. Couldn't get a good skin connection so gave up.
Ended up hiring a theraplate, which all the horses on the yard loved. Cob had stifle injury, and seemed to make a big difference to him and another who had an unusual tendon injury.
the people behind arc will tell you it can cure everything. if you decide to go ahead really pay close attention to the skin where the unit touches the leg. Quite a few people have experienced big reactions. My horse got white hairs from it and she got off lightly I think. i'd save your money for more check ups or other complementary therapies.
I had some issues with the white hairs from the original one but not from the version 2 - they were offering a trade in option and my original had stopped working after it fell in a bucket of water. I used it on my retired one as I found it meant I could reduce bute with it. However with these things it's impossible to say if it helped without proper testing. Even if they heal really quickly you can never know if they would have done anyway.
I used it on my dog. Strapped it around her tummy while she lay on the sofa in the evening. I used it when she did her second cruciate ligament. The first one took a very long time to heal, the second was much quicker. Obviously I don’t know if that was because it wasn’t as damaged as the first, or any other reason. But she healed quicker and seemed to enjoy sitting on the sofa for arc time. Never had a contact issue with it and shes only a small jack Russell, I just made sure i changed where I strapped it to on her.
