My fields are on a hillside ad yet they are totally sodden. Pools of water lying anywhere it can collect such as in poached gateways and in hoof prints. Its worse than mid winter. My wellie got stuck in a gateway yesterday.I've resorted to keeping the horses in for most of the time as they are slipping and sliding everywhere. :(

Yes mine is and it was all lovely grass last week from last year! Its a real mush and more mud now.

He is covered in mud. Very slushy,

Yep, and I'm sure we are no way in the minority. We've got areas of standing water and one big lake.

Horses are still out, came in Wed's as were cold and they're coming in Sun as weather looking awful :-(

Absolutely awful with us too, despite being very high up...just as bad, if not worse than at its worst in the winter...cold too, 7 degrees the other day...realise it is pointless to moan about the weather but blimey am I sick of mud!!!!!!!!!!:(:(:(

Are anyone's fields NOT sodden might be a better question at this point!! :D:D:D And the arena...... let's just say my normal Sunday dressage lesson looks a bit doubtful at this stage, lol.

Yep...negotiating the mud is a feat in itself and heading towards the muck heap warrants a search party on standby...

All this rain and it's still too cold for any grass to come through here... Bah humbug...

We're not too bad here. There was standing water on the field behind my house yesterday but it has gone now.

Also- piccies, anyone? I wanna see your birdies. :D

Sodden?? Just a tad!
Not me personally, tis a friend, but this is the kinda thing we are up to... our necks perhaps.
This is an odd drought we appear to be having.
And yes, this is ''riding in the field'' (same field as used for XC practice and field schooling!)

Saying that, this was yesterday, level has gone down loads today.

My horses field has 'large duck ponds' in it now, lol.... at least the filly is getting good at water complexes!

Ours is rubbish too although I bet it's not as bad as some of yours since the horse that is paired with mine doesn't go out much in the bad weather. We did actually have a long day of beautiful sun today so that has dried it up a tad. We are in for another day of sun tomorrow but then the rain is back. Blah

Fools Motto - omg!!!!!

Ours have been very soggy, but today the horses had a mad half hour (we couldn't catch the little darlings!) and we now have soggy ploughed fields

this sure is the wettest drought ive ever known :D:D:D

bought some new waterproof trousers online earlier so for sure it will stop raining as soon as they arrive:D

Blimey fools motto that is quite some sitting water.......

Our gateways are slurry liquid mud and up to there knees in places wasn't this bad in worst of winter. Nearly lost my wellies twise today and these are our summer paddocks :(

Now fretting about mud fever :(

OMG what some of you have had to suffer with!
Sorry to say that where I am, although we have had heavy rain for the last couple of days, the fields have coped OK, horses did stay in on the worst day. This morning the fields were a bit soggy, no real mud to speak of, but not having had any rain today, a good breeze and a fair bit of sunshine on the go they were quite dry this evening.

I've been trying to look on the bright side. We bought our place in January and I had no idea how the fields would be through winter as they haven't been used for a year. All this rain has helped me decide which fields to use in summer v winter. I'm getting an arena build so the contractor was able to come here yesterday to see where we need additional drains to stop water from the field running into the arena drains. Hopefully we won't get rain like this again on a regular basis everyone has had enough of it now.

I tried to get a picture of the Herron yesterday, but it spotted me a mile off, and now Africa has gone into horse eating monster mode again, as she's only just got used to it standing there:D

Ours is very hilly so although its wet there's enough dry places. Do have quite a few pools at the lower points though. Ones deep enough to come a few inches up the body of an 11.1 pony. Also have wild geese & ducks. At least we did have wild geese until the pony charged into the water after them.

Ours are pretty soggy, and the track where we work the ponies has turned into a mud pit. Even the school has a big pond in the middle! Back to road work for us, least its getting them fit!

We were meant to be having our first polo tournament of the season next weekend but everywhere is so wet that we haven't even been able to play yet, everywhere is too wet! On the plus side maybe the ground won't get as hard as it did last May!

Someone said they are saying this is the wettest drought we've had....

The summer turnout field has water on the top - have never seen it like it is in 8 years of being at the yard, only about inch or two and horses which are usually more than happy to stay out 24/7 are coming to the gate wanting in at the end of the day.

Seals and seagulls spring to mind :-(

Hmmm...did you see Mr Dragon flailing around after losing a boot in the muck heap this evening by any chance? Even the 'aaagh aaagh' noises were quite fitting... :D

Ok...that's a whole different level... My feet would freeze just hanging over it...

Yes but the rice is coming on well.

Love it... :D
