Are OMGs and Hugs a substitute for constructive comments?

What's a "GOW" ??

((((((((Hugs))))))))))

Sorry not read Daiseys post yet, but when i do i wil see if i can do a little better than give her a hug and offer her an OMG

Yes, you do that - I am sure she would appreciate it far more.
Thank you.

i think it would be horrible for _daisy_ to see that her post had (for example) 300 views, but no one had written anything- because they couldn't say anything constructive. (((hugs))) are better than silence.

also... i am quite sure that upon writing the post, she knew she'd be bombarded with (((hugs))) and OMGs.

what else did she expect from people who 1) don't know her and 2) know she's already done the one thing they'd tell her to... call the police.

i may be wrong, but i presume she wants some (((hugs)))... hence writing the post.

I thought it was just me thinking - burglars burgle, they don't burglarise!

[/ QUOTE ]

from freedictionary....

bur·glar·ize (bûrgl-rz)
v. bur·glar·ized, bur·glar·iz·ing, bur·glar·iz·es
v.tr.
1. To enter and steal from (a building or other premises).
2. To commit burglary against: The second-floor tenants have been burglarized twice.
v.intr.
To commit burglary.

I don't know if anybody forces GOW to use this forum, but possibly if they find it so bad they might be better off by doing more practical things with their time!

i'm not sure "i've been burglarized twice" works well grammatically. it doesn't sound right to me. but hey, what do i know? i just like to give (((hugs)))

I hear knitting blankets for orphans can be therapeutic for Ladies of a certain age.

You're obviously feeling a little bit grumpy today MrWoof. I think you need.......a. great. big. hug. <<<<<Group Hug>>>>>>

I've lived in the north, the south, the east and the west of this country and I send burglars to prison on a regular basis. I have never heard the term burglarize except on American TV.

I stand corrected Mr Woof.

i don't mean to keep on about this but does anyone know why 'burglarized' sounds like a made up word? is it american english?

Is it me, or does burglarize just sound that little bit rude? Kind of nothing to do with being burgled at all? (Snigger!).

Sorry, only me then! Must be time to go home soon.....

Being one of the useless posters - I have a practical solution for you Mr Woof - why don't you post your own problems & can then abuse anyone who leaves you ((((hugs)))) or OMGs. Daisy repeatedly says cheers & reposts to us losers. If she has no problem with the replies, I wonder why you do???

PMSL I shall be using that from now on

I don't see what's wrong wth a bit of moral support, especially when someone has already done something constructive (eg calling the police which is about all you can do in that situation).
