I always considered myself a fair weather rider until today!

Me and my loan ponies owner agreed last weekend that we'd ride out today and she would take a half day at work to do so.

About an hour before we were due to meet it was hammering it down with rain and the wind had picked up! Spoke to owner she still wanted to meet and see if the weather would settle down.

Well it didnt! We set off in the pouring rain, got into the park and the wind went gale force! Owner asked if we should turn back but being already wet and halfway round I decided to just keep going!

Thankfully the wind dropped as did the rain on the home stretch. Ponies where spectacularly behaved not putting one hoof out of place.

So I'm now wearing my all weather rider badge with pride :p

I ride in all weathers at work - no choice in that, even in hurricanes and blizzards!

At home - fair weather as I like to keep my leather tack well looked after!

If the weather turns at a show then I will carry on, if it is vile before I leave and has a poor forecast then I just won't go unless I stand a bloomin good chance of winning and it is the shetlands going out in-hand lol!

When I was endurance riding, definately an all weather rider.

Now that I'm old enough to rust, I'm a bit more choosey!

All weather unless it's so bad that there is no point heading out/it's dangerous. My pony is good in all weathers though. I don't bother taking my mostly retired one out unless the weather is good though- no point.

I was kind of fair weather but it's mainly because I am always really busy so if it's rubbish I think oh well I will do this instead and ride when it's good. However, my current horse needs to be ridden every single day or we will be back to square one with her PSSM so looks like I am going to be investing in some better riding gear for all weathers and toughening up!

I vacillate! If I have something organised, like a lesson or a pleasure ride, then I ride whatever the weather. If I haven't got anything organised, then I can be put off easily by a black sky! - though I think nothing of standing around holding my horse while he grazes in hand in all weathers, if he can't be turned out. Also have to take the dog out whatever the weather so I think that is toughening me up a bit.

TBH I am more likely to wimp out if the weather is too hot, than if it is too wet!

fair weather, unless it turns while I am already on. Then I just carry on ! But I just hate getting soaked, cold or blown about in the wind. My horses are all great in bad weather conditions, or else I'd use the bad weather to school them in (always need them to behave if the weather turns at a show/ hacking / out hunting etc!)

When I was competing more and had goals I used to ride in most weathers, these days with a older horse and few goals I'm not going to bother if its rubbish there isn't any point.

Probably fair weather. I try to avoid it of its raining but that's because if I get wet, I get very chilled to the bone and it's takes forever to warm up. However if I'm already out and it rains, I just such it up.

I don't mind cold or windy but won't do hurricane windy or ice lol

Fair weather. Can't be bothered to ride in wind and rain. There are alway dry days. I used to ride in all weather but now think back and wonder why.

I'd go out whatever the weather my youngster on the other hand doesn't like rain one bit! tends to refuse to go. my mare would go whatever the weather before she was retired

all weather :) softshell breeches are my friend.
Nothing like rehabbing an injury to make you suck it up and get on with it.

All weather, if I have an unflooded surface, or some means of hacking out safely (i.e. not on a road in ice and snow and poor visibility!).

I'd go with this, its not the weather in itself, its what it does to the area/grounds I ride.

All-weather, so long as not sheet ice or frozen, lameness-inducing surface. Soaked to the skin on this morning's hack, but nothing a cup of hot tea and a pair of dry knickers couldn't fix ;)

Sorry but I ride in all weather except on the roads I wont ride out if too icy, for me if you own a horse you should ride it no matter what. but that is me and what I have done since 1980's
