I got Logistician, ISTJ-A

Logisticians are practical and fact-minded individuals, whose reliability cannot be doubted.

79% introverted, 73% observant, 61% thinking, 56% judging, 64% assertive.

That's pretty accurate for me actually (and I think suits my job as a teacher pretty well, except maybe the introverted bit!).

I wrote about the personality traits of forum members a while back, lots of quite introverted middle aged women! Iā€™m 82% introverted, observational, organised and assertive, very feeling and caring of others. Pretty true!

Do you think weā€™re introverted therefore we like horses OR we like horses and therefore we are introverted??šŸ˜‹

Iā€™ve also been following the work of A & E Aron who coined the phrase Highly Sensitive Person back in the late 90ā€™s. A quick google can show you how to find out if youā€™re one. It was a shock to find I was one and again, explains a lotā€¦ loud noises affect meā€¦I read peopleā€™s emotions very easilyā€¦. Iā€™m extremely empatheticā€¦ā€¦.. all good to know so you can plan and prepare and not burn out.

I'm am 80% introverted logistician

I disagree with it saying they don't get stressed as I definitely do! Apparently a strength is calm and practical. Absolutely definitely not!! I also disagree with being happy to fit with the gender stereotypes around the home

However the weaknesses are spot on:

*Stubborn
*Insensitive
*Always by the book
*Judgemental
*Often unreasonably blame themselves

Also this "Logisticians are not naturally receptive to othersā€™ emotions" is true!

Also spot on "People with the Logistician personality type can get so caught up in the belief in their correctness, in ā€œwinningā€ arguments they thought were about facts, that they donā€™t realize their partner may have viewed things from a perspective of consideration and sensitivity"

I'm another who's often wondered if they have autistic or at least Asperger's traits, there was a programme on a little while ago with a play along test and I ticked a lot of the boxes

I am 88% turbulent which definitely fits with the stressy side

I am Virtuoso ISTP-A

This fairly closely matches an "Insights Discovery" exercise which I had to do at work in 2019. The Insights Discovery profile is based on Jung Model of Personality. We were expected to discuss the whole document with our co-workers to confirm

It says I am an advocate. I read some of the further descriptions of my personality and was surprised to agree with quite a lot of them.

I am a consul...

Consuls are very caring, social, community-minded people who are always eager to help.

52% extraverted. 69% assertive.

Consuls have a talent for making the people in their lives feel supported, cared for, and secure.

Ah, bless, that was my job as an ELSA (emotional learning) at school.

Consuls have a clear moral compass ā€“ and it can be nothing short of baffling to them when other peopleā€™s actions donā€™t align with it.

Yes, that does ring very true.

Consuls rarely miss a birthday or holiday. Devoted to their relationships, they commit even the smallest details of their friendsā€™ and loved onesā€™ lives to memory.

Nope, I am hopeless. I care very deeply about people on a daily basis, but not birthdays! I cared about how people feel, not about random dates!

  • Strong Practical Skills ā€“ Consuls are excellent managers of day-to-day tasks and routine maintenance, enjoying making sure that those who are close to them are well cared for.
Er, not if that includes cooking!
  • Strong Sense of Duty ā€“ People with the Consul personality type have a strong sense of responsibility and strive to meet their obligations, though this may sometimes be more from a sense of social expectations than intrinsic drive.
Yes, agreed.
  • Very Loyal ā€“ Valuing stability and security very highly, Consuls are eager to preserve the status quo, which makes them extremely loyal and trustworthy partners and employees. Consuls are true pillars of any groups they belong to ā€“ whether it is their family or a community club, people with this personality type can always be relied upon.
Yes, agreed.
  • Sensitive and Warm ā€“ Helping to ensure that stability, Consul personalities seek harmony and care deeply about other peopleā€™s feelings, being careful not to offend or hurt anybody. Consuls are strong team players, and win-win situations are the stuff smiles are made of.
Yes, agreed.
  • Good at Connecting with Others ā€“ These qualities come together to make Consuls social, comfortable and well-liked. Consul personalities have a strong need to ā€œbelongā€, and have no problem with small talk or following social cues in order to help them take an active role in their communities.
Noooo, I am socially awkward!!!

  • Worried about Their Social Status ā€“ These Strengths are related to a chief Weakness: Consulsā€™ preoccupation with social status and influence, which affects many decisions they make, potentially limiting their creativity and open-mindedness.
Nope, don't give 2 hoots about social status.
  • Inflexible ā€“ Consuls place a lot of importance on what is socially acceptable, and can be very cautious, even critical of anything unconventional or outside the mainstream. People with this personality type may also sometimes push their own beliefs too hard in an effort to establish them as mainstream.
I am more live and let live.
  • Reluctant to Innovate or Improvise ā€“ Just as they can be critical of othersā€™ ā€œunusualā€ behavior, Consuls may also be unwilling to step out of their own comfort zones, usually for fear of being (or just appearing) different.
Nope, I love to innovate, especially in the area of teaching.
  • Vulnerable to Criticism ā€“ It can be especially challenging to change these tendencies because Consuls are so conflict-averse. Consul personalities can become very defensive and hurt if someone, especially a person close to them, criticizes their habits, beliefs or traditions.
If someone close then yes. If a random person then no.
  • Often Too Needy ā€“ Consuls need to hear and see a great deal of appreciation. If their efforts go unnoticed, people with the Consul personality type may start fishing for compliments, in an attempt to get reassurance of how much they are valued.
I am not needy, I tend to go do my own thing.
  • Too Selfless ā€“ The other side of this is that Consuls sometimes try to establish their value with doting attention, something that can quickly overwhelm those who donā€™t need it, making it ultimately unwelcome. Furthermore, Consuls often neglect their own needs in the process.
I am pretty full on but don't neglect my own needs. Quite the opposite.

Romantic Relationships

Prizing social validation and a sense of belonging so highly, romantic relationships hold a special level of importance for Consuls. No other kind of relationship provides people with the Consul personality type with the same level of support and devotion, and the feelings of security and stability that come with strong romantic relationships are extremely warming.

Consuls donā€™t do casual flings ā€“ they need to know that their partners will always be by their sides offering unwavering support, and marriage and family are the ultimate goal.

Yes, this is true. I have only had 3 romantic relationships, all long term, the past was 33 years until my husband sadly died.

If they feel like this support isnā€™t there, such as when their partners deliver criticism, Consuls can feel extremely hurt. People with the Consul personality type dislike conflict and criticism, which can make it challenging to address any problems that come up. Nothing is more hurtful or depressing to Consuls than to realize that their partners donā€™t respect their dreams or opinions. Consuls can be surprisingly tough and tireless in the face of hardship, but they need to know without a doubt that their partners are behind them 100%.

Yes, I had a wonderful husband who supported me all the way. It was very important to me.

By and large, the Consul personality type is a pleasant and sincere one. Their energy and social intelligence win them many acquaintances and friends, and their support and dedication keep those friendships close and strong. With so much zest for life and company, dull moments are sure to be few and far between.

I think it is a mixed bag and many of the types could be true for many people.

ESTJ-P executive, which I was šŸ¤£.

It seems my personality has remained unchanged after 3 years of retirement, which is interesting as I feel I am a nicer, kinder person now.

I tried to answer the questions as my normal self, not as how I'm feeling right now as I'm going through a tough time. This makes sense for me, in my normal state, I think.
