Personally I cannot see what is wrong with JM's response, although the OP did take it the wrong way - can anyone else see anything there that I cant?
The way I see it JM (along with several others) was purely showing concern for an aging pony, she certainly did not deserve the vitriol showered upon her by the pre school club nor did she deserve banning.

I for one appreciate JM07's experience and advice (although not so much her 'way' with words sometimes) and do hope her ban isn't a permanent one, BUT I'm sorry, there are plenty of people on here just as capable. The forum will not crumble in her absence just as it hasn't when all the other 'regulars/experts left. People are joining this forum all the time. No one is indispensible.
Anyway she has another username and I'm sure will have no trouble rejoining if she wants.
I havent read all of this but am sorry to see JM has been banned, she is v knowledgable but at the same time there are plenty of other people on here that also know their stuff.
I did think it would happen sooner or later though because of JMs blunt and sometimes rude style, it obvioulsy annoyed a lot of people. Maybe some people just liked to push her buttons.........i dont know.
It's not a grown up forum anymore. No one has the bollocks to do anything face to face, they prefer to do it via pm or silly little snide references, then when they get called on it they cry bully and go running to admin.

Not quite true SleepingDragon - I said it face to face, not on a PM or running to admin. I took exception to the unacceptably insensitive way that certain posters had been treated by two people and expressed my concerns about that behaviour directly in the thread where it ocurred.
For the record, I got a warning from Admin for it - probably well deserved, and the posts were deleted.
Sirena- Having just read the sweet FA monday thread (about to start on tuesday, or is that not worth reading?) and wow that has changed my opinion on certain members.
If JM has been banned then so should some of them for what were some very bitchy and personal comments. I'm sure JM isn't fussed but why the hell should they get away with it?
I saw JM's comment last night about pillows but didn't know what had sparked it nor did I go looking for the thread. If JM has been banned over that then its a crying shame.
Like her or loathe her no one can deny she has a wealth of knowledge and a unique delivery style. Is that any reason to get her banned?
Well isn't it convinient that SMID's replies were deleted by admin!
He made derogatory comments about JM's marital status,
that if he woke up next to her, he'd put a pillow over her head...and then others offered to help him.
thats bang out of order, I know JM, she's lovely.
How manly do you feel now SMID?
You had to snitch to admin instead of fronting a woman!
Its men like you that give men a bad name!
The unfortunate comment about pillows was made by me - in an failed attempt to inject some humour into what was becoming an increasingly immature bun fight. That coment was what got me censured by Admin
But what an earlier poster said stands - I and responsible for the coments I make, and the consequences of them. JM must also take responsibility for the coments she makes and the more severe censure that she received as a result of them.
Was it the 'needles' comment that pushed you to snitch?
and i'm sure it has been noticed by the Sweet FA'ers that, up til "that" thread, when THEY starting insulting JM, she hadn't as much as opened their bloody threads.

I do hope JM's ban isn't permanent. But being very knowledgeable does not mean that rules do not apply. I personally have a lot of respect for JM but the numerous times she has been banned and seems to never learn a bit of tact (not pussyfooting around- just not blatant rudeness and borderline abusiveness) means that they will probably continue. I usually ignore the posts i do not like of hers and read with interest the useful ones. But i have thought a few times god help anyone who says a word against her or her friends. Also, it is not law to agree with everything certain people say. The beating down of any one with a different opinion gets a bit ridiculous at times.
I have no idea what went on in the SFA threat, but there have been some offensive and uncalled for posts since her last 'holiday' and so to be honest i am not surprised.
I want to make clear, i have a lot of respect for JM and i am sorry she is gone, hopefully not for good. But i am sure admin had their reasons. Silly games are just as bad also, if the accusations are true. Sad people.

I completely and utterly agree with everything said here!!
She was incredibly rude to me on one occasion, it was completely off topic and unnecessary. It was only a small comment but it wasn't nice and to be quite frank I don't give a monkeys how great everybody thinks she is, it is simply unacceptable to go around being so blatently rude to people. Common courtesy costs nothing! Baring in mind this thread is partially about how sad it is that people are not allowed a difference in opinion... that is my opinion.
I understand that it is frustrating when people can't cope with a difference in opinion, but I do think that a difference in opinion is much easier to swallow when that person hasn't previously been swanning around with an attitude and dishing out rude comments without a care or consequence. I think there is a vast difference between honesty such as 'calling a spade a spade', as someone put it earlier, and being bloody rude! There is no need for the latter and every need to put the former tactfully!
However, I did often read her replies and advice with interest and could see how valued a member of HHO she was. And I do think her knowledge will be missed. I have no doubt that she will be back in no time. And I do think that if there was some conspiracy against her then it is an awfully poor show and those people should be ashamed of themselves... it makes them no better than they feel she is.
she is very blunt, and often rude in fact. But I for one began to take little notice of her.........
Plenty of other ppl on here to offer good advice without making you feel downright stupid!
BTW it did brighten up my evening mind!
LittleSoph - I have to agree with you.
JM07 was very rude to me too - in fact I would say she was unnecessarily hurtful.
I'm sure she is knowledgable but maybe she needed to learn a bit more about tact and diplomacy too when posting on a public forum.
However - I would rather put her on UI than deny this forum of her knowledge and advice.

I do not think jm is intentionally rude, blunt yes which can at times be conceived as rude

I was talking about something to do with my horse and mentioned that I know he isn't everyone's cup of tea and JM replied with something like...
'and he's ugly!'
That was it.... nothing else!
As I said, off topic, unnecessary and rude! I couldn't care less if people don't like my horse, we all have our preferences, but it was the lack of common decency that annoyed me. What was the point in that comment?!

QR - is it really possibly for someone to get banned purely because of complaints/button pushing, even if they've not breached T&Cs?

Lets see shall we
*pushes buttons on all of Puppy's posts*
Seriously though - have not been involved at all in any of this and don't really know any of the parties but why would Admin ban someone just because others reported them - I bet hundreds of innocuous posts get reported.
