Out, naked, and not bothering even to eat their hay yet.
It's lovely and sunny, 3C, no wind, and most of them seem to be lying down sunbathing. This time last year the snow had begun...I can manage no snow for a bit longer yet.
I know!! they would normally be in ( they love to come in) but my foal is off to stud to be weaned at end of month and will be living out so im leaving them all out till he goes. If he can cope with the weather im sure the rest can.
Mine are all out, only the very old girl is rugged, other two are naked. I sometimes feel guilty but other times grin because of all the shavings money I'm saving! The two chunkies are still very much chunky despite summer rations, so they're fine.
Mine is out 24/7 rugged and with a field shelter plus a lovely big field with lots of natural shelter from the horrendous storm atm. I think when it is blowing a houlie (sp!) that they are better out than in!
yes my mare is out, rugged up, and a lot of people on the yard think i am a terrible horse owner, she should be in.....hey ho. Sometimes I think they forget that horses are not humans....
My WBxTB filly is out enjoying the bracing weather this evening. Here's hoping she'll still be in her field tomorrow morning though (and hasn't been blown into the next county). LOL.
It's character building! That's what I keep telling myself as I listen to the howling wind and lashing rain sat here at home. She's got a Rhino Combo rug on though, and will be fine
i have my 2 girls in and 2 boys out saying that there all out 2night as its pretty mild plus i have a propper busy day 2moro at work but they are all rugged up some warm watter in feed and lots of haylage and my mum will be checking them first thing but just as a wee one off
Out, not rugged, ignoring the weather and eating his head off in the middle of the field as usual. They hay has been put out in the feeders, but the residents of his field seem to be ignoring it so far.
