Ariat Boots - Problems?

Hello,

I brought some Ariat Windermeres at the beginning of feb and sadly now they are leaking. I have a 4 year old pair of Bromonts still going strong. Anyone had any trouble with Ariats? The shop I brought them from were less than helpful, I am going to ring Ariat on Monday, has anyone had any direct dealings with them? I am likely to get anywhere with them?
 
I found Ariat customer service very good, shame I couldnt say the same about their wellies. Ive had 2 pairs of Mudbusters split and leak, both within the first 6 months of quite light use. Both times they changed them without question and actually the second time they told me they had had a problem with a batch of the raw material and had experienced a lot of problems. I would definitely call them, Im sure they will be helpful.
 
I believe I do have a dodgy pair, as like I said i have a 4 year old pair of Bromonts which have been brilliant. I am still in shock by the customer service I received from the shop!! I'll give Ariats a call see what they make of it.
 
Yes I had a pair o ariats and wasnt happy with the zip breaking, I emailed ariat, they asked for pics of the boots then promptly sent me a brand new pair for nothing! I was sooo happy as I managed to sell the old pair for £60 on ebay with a broken zip ....brilliant customer service :)
 
I've just returned my Windermeres to Ariat that were leaking - bought in May 2012.

Emailed Ariat Customer service about 10pm on Sunday night, had a reply from them by 9.30am Monday - sent me a free post label to return the boots for testing.

Waiting to hear their verdict but so far the service has been very good.
 
I also had fabulous customer service from Ariat - zip went on a pair of Bromonts which I hadnt worn a lot - they emailed me a postage label to send them back, and after looking at them sent me a brand new pair immediately.
 
Mine are 2 yrs old and worn everyday for dog walking and down yard and still waterproof but I do treat them with dubbing:D
 
i had 2 pairs come apart at the arch at the edge where the sole meets the upper and my latest pair have split on the top where they crease when my foots in the stirrup so i wont be buying another pair cos there just over a year old -even tho they replaced the first 2 pairs promptly :(
 
I've just bought a pair of these and the girl in my tack shop couldn't stress enough about how these were ariats LEAST durable boot and they don't recommend you go wading through mud or ride in them.
 
Thanks, mine have gone in the same place. I have emailed them hopefully they will do something. Thing is I told the shop what I was looking for and they recommended the Windermeres. Not even like I went in and just brought them.

Excellent news, I live in hope then!! I had an email back from them with a postage label to return which I shall be doing tomorrow. Lilyhead, how many days did it take for you to get a reply? Not sure how long I can cope without my ariats, just defrosted my feet which I haven't had to do for a while!!
 
My sister has a pair of windermeres which leaked from day 1. She only wears them when it is dry. Don't think she bothered contacting ariat. Just ordered some bromonts (hope they fit).
 
So I'm going to send my replacement pair of Bromonts back to Ariat. I send the first pair back last July because of the quality of the leather on the toe and crease of the foot - the boots were about 9 months old and looked like they were 10 years old. So they sent me a new pair.

The new pair are much better in terms of the leather and actually look good after you have polished them. However, the synthetic gusset section that runs up the back of the leg has torn away from the stitching on the right boot. This is without excessive wear and I am very careful to look after them well. The synthetic material is also 'cracking' out on both boots.

I feel a bit naughty sending them back again in some respects, but at the same time, such a large fault shouldn't occur on such expensive boots after 7 months! We'll see what happens this time......
 
My windermeres did exactly the same leaking. I phoned Ariat and they have me a free postage label to send them back in. She phoned me a few days later saying she had stood the boots for 24hours in (wait for it!) 3 whole cm of water and they hadn't leaked. I'm sorry but 3cm is not a lot seeing as the boots say waterproof on them and mine had only been used a few weeks! She reproofed them and sent them back. They leaked at the sides a bit but I found mainly on ten inside of the boot where the heel is often gets wet. She said they are not meant to be like a wellie. They are stated as being waterproof and that's where I then got confused. Before I bought the boots I searched on here and google for reviews as I know Dublin river boots aren't waterproof. If I'd have seen this post before I got mine or knew they leaked I Definately would have bought them. They are not waterproof in my opinion they're pretty useless for the price of them
 
If aproduct claims to be waterproof it is not unreasonable to expect it to be as "claimed Waterproof". I believe the waterproof liner in the windermere boot only comes about half way up the leg of the boot, and I would doubt it is a full sock in the foot so water gets around underneath it at the sole resulting in leaks.

I sent back 3 pairs of Welligog Sloane boots with this problem and a pair of Toggi Hamilton Boots all which started leaking in this manner 2 pairs of Welligog Sloane boots leaked straight out of the box!. In this price range Cabotswood Boots are very good with a full sock a friend has some and they have been really good and Waterproof.

Bite the Bullet and Buy some Dubarry Boots amd Look after them my old pair are 4 years old and going strong second set of soles and still 100% Waterproof.
 
Ariat's customer service is brilliant. The seal between the sole and the boot on my Grasmeres started to come away when they were about 6 months old. I emailed Ariat via the website and got a very quick response, sent my boots away with the freepost label they gave me and got them back resealed in a few days. With a bottle of leather conditioner for my troubles!
