I shall keep this short for once!
But must say lovely to see Jiffy and Haybales, OH and finally meet Vicki1978 too.
Course was super dooper and I cannot wait to return next year.
Dressage, he was a bit lively but settled, did a lovely test, only for rider to go wrong.... so scored 35.7
Show jumping was small but bright, he went completely green on me after being so consistant this week in training, even YO was suprised... but thats young horses for you. He did an okay round in bits but he chipped in twice and twice lowered a pole.
Hey ho, on to xc, i was sure to go direct everywhere, and try not going xc with a martingale for the first time.
He went brilliantly over fences 1-9 he was flying, so bold even over the scary 4 poster bed which was like a big table under a hut. He even flew the scary wall fences that ppl seem to have problems with.
Fence 10 was after a long run up a hill, think he was getting a little tired, even so he was pulling me into it. Fence 10 was a train engine basically you jumped the back of it which was a wideish table. There was no ground line and he chipped in being a little green and got very close and clambered over. Fence 11 was a double of palisades which had a drop and different ways of jumping it. He again chipped in and got too close. Fence 12 was a big bank 3 strides over a big log this he jumped really well.
Cantering to the corner, i was in two minds because i knew he had scared himself a little over the box type fences. Sure enough coming into it head in the air and he sailed straight past - *NOTE* never going xc without martingale again!!
Circled and popped the two alternatives - the water was quite spooky over a big hanging carving of wood into water and out over another big box fence but this time he hit it spot on and flew.
The rest of the course he was motoring again and really flew the very wide table 3 from home. Slight scary moment went stumbling after the drop log when rider had to sit tight but finished well.
He looked very tired back at the lorry, but i was very pleased with him.
So we have some homework to be getting on with now.
A little disappointed with the run out, but its his first EVER faulter at a fence, so i cant complain.
Thanks for reading
