At the vets with a Rottie with a poorly paw

They are fabulous! Our pair (both about 40kg) shared half of a double large crate most of the time. Nowadays the remaining one spends most of her days sharing a giant dog bed with 2, relatively small, Labs.

They do like to squidge up together if it means they both get a comfy spot. Occasionally there'll be a pile of dogs on two of the mat things.

They are absolutely gorgeous, how is the invalid this morning?

Thank you. Paw still swollen but no worse i don't think. He's still being extra close and loving, occasionally lifting the poorly paw up and resting it on some part of me. I'm going another couple of days will see an improvement for the poor wee lad.

I met a rottie recently. I’ve never really spoken to one before. He was far more athletic than I expected. But the main wow was his head. It was so round! Like a giant concrete football. ?.
He was very amiable.

Y'up! They're so solid and big and round, very much like a concrete statue of a dog really. Very comforting to cuddle. And yes they can shift. One of ours can jump like a stag, whilst the other is more the bulldozer type. One thing that always amazes me is how they can go from lying spark out on their backs to full up alert in the blink of an eye.

They are incredibly amiable and gentle souls. Yes they'll protect if needed, though I feel these two may well just lick someone to death, but treat them right and they're grand.

They are lovely dogs - just not as long lived as they should be in many cases, sadly:(

Aww, he sounds, and looks adorable. Hope the poorly paw soon is better again.

Also hope you have a large cheese at home, if everyone is getting slices with every pill the Rottie needs to take.

They're getting more of a nibble...

Oh sweetie. That's the bit I'm not thinking about.

No, enjoy them while you can! But it is the reason we opted for Labs to 'replace' the 6 yr old. The previous one was 9 yrs old when she succumbed to cancer of the spleen, having been going to the vets for several months to no avail. I wasn't sure about Rott pups after her but she she had a very bad start and was a super, friendly dog, so we decided to give it a go. I must admit that I might be tempted to take on another rescue but probably not buy from a breeder again. - And I know that probably sounds illogical;)
