Can't believe it's going to be September this weekend :( the summer has just flown by!

What is everyone up to?

Very exciting weekend chez Kira, we are off to the BD Home International riding for Wales :D Can't believe my little project cob made the grade, but she's been feeling ace in our lessons recently so I'm hoping she might be able to show off a bit of decent work :o

About to pack her onto the lorry to set off for the long trek north to Bishop Burton. At least one other HHOer is on the teams... won't spoil the surprise if you don't know.

Have fun everyone, looks like the weather might be kind :)

Wow! Good luck MP!

I'm going on holiday, so weekend plans include lots of food and wine, and absolutely nothing equestrian whatsoever :-)

Good luck to everybody competing this week.

Very best of luck MP. I have given Red the week off schooling as she felt flat at our Saturday tests (though we managed our best score). Hacking is def freshening her up as requests for trot were met with canter last night - all very polite and the energy pleased me! So we’ll lesson at the weekend and save ourselves for our next prelim tests next weekend. Off to my instructors yard sale Saturday morning - taking the OH. He’ll hate it but it will at least stop me going completely crazy!

That sounds very exciting MP, good luck and enjoy .

I havent a clue what to do this weekend. Think we crammed in a months horsey comps last weekend. I do need to go shopping for my sons 18th birthday present. No idea what to get him.

Ive been toying with the idea of popping over to Burghley

Good luck to everyone out and about

Good luck MP! I'm sure you'll have a great time (and hopefully some great results!).

I'm at a friend's wedding on Saturday so I'm spending tomorrow helping her to set up, then wedding itself and then recovery on Sunday...!! I'll squeeze some riding in around it though :D

Am off to Sparsholt on Sunday for the Area Festival. Am having a bash at the elementary - it will only be our fourth ever ele test so am going with absolutely no expectations. Will be great not having any kind of pressure.

Good luck to all those competing

Oh very exciting MP good luck!

Hacking tonight and planning to do our first 'out and about' canter since Christmas - hoping D has his big boy pants on and carries on this trend of being the chillest 5yo to walk the Earth.

Working all day Saturday (booo) but will try and work on some of the ideas from our lesson on Tuesday so we don't look woefully behind on our homework in next weeks lesson!

Good luck to all out and about, absolutely LOVE reading all the competition reports!

A Welsh Cob representing Wales - obviously!! Looking forward to hearing how it goes MP. Very exciting.

LW - I've sulked for all my big birthdays but at least the presents tend to be good 😀

I am waaay behind anyone on here, still having my stabilisers on...This weekend I am getting Horseface used to loading on a lorry with his fancy travel boots on. Weekend after we go out on our first fun ride.

Very best of luck milliepops, hope there's a full report. :)

Was supposed to be off for some more combined training on Sat but an abscess has scuppered our plans! At least it is nothing to worry about and he can stay out in the field.

Oh that's annoying A&K. MP - that is so fantastic, well done, amazing to get to that stage. Riding for Wales, sounds ever so grand :)

Finally able to get out and do some horsey stuff this weekend. XC clinic on Sunday in prep for a baby ODE there the following Sunday. Teeny tiny fences but it's all about building confidence. Had a fabby flatwork lesson last night doing pole work and attempting (quite badly) to learn flying changes. A nice bit of variety and having not done schooling for a couple of weeks I was chuffed that I seem to have remembered how to ride (ish)!

Good luck and have fun everyone!
I'm finally home and have another new bit to try so will go and have a walk around the block :). The Seaver girth sleeve should be tomorrow so I'll be trying that out too. I think I've come up with a (theoretical) way to link it to the Equilab app which will make it do everything I want it to.

Amazing MP!! Good luck.
I am having a lesson tomorrow then on Sunday Amber and Jenny are showjumping. Jenny's first outing with Izzy!
Next week it is back to Leahurst for Ginny so keeping fingers and toes crossed for good news then. She looks fine pootling round her paddock but till we block her we won't know how she really is.

Happy Birthday LW.

We’re off out for some jumping. Only our second SJ competition and our first was teeny tiny RC cross-poles.

We’re still only doing 60cm to see how we get on in a bigger environment.

I hope everyone has a fab weekend!

Good luck MP!

I'm taking my big baby cob to his first ever show jumping competition tonight. He's very keen with his jumping but sometimes forgets what each of his legs is doing. We demolish a lot at home so we will see what happens!

The rest of the weekend I just have lessons. Flat on Saturday and jump on Sunday. And a flat lesson on my other cob on Sunday as well. Chilled :)

Good Luck MP and everyone else who has plans!

I'm taking Sam down to Newmarket on Sunday for the Heath Ride. Seems a ridiculously long way to go for a sponsored ride but it's something that I have always wanted to do so I just thought why not, it's only driving!

Hope everyone has a lovely weekend. I was planning on taking Millie to dressage on Sunday, but after the events this week with Diva, I just don’t have it in me.

I will get back on board today though and have a potter about.

I think I'm umpiring some chukkas for the polocrosse demo at Silver Leys polo club tomorrow. And then hanging around watching some polo for the rest of the day...

Oh don't normally put in what we are doing but good luck all and well done MP. LW - we are competing at Onley on Sunday in the dressage classes. Were going to show but missed the entry date and looking at the schedule the class we would do is early and our dressage times are late so just come up for those.

Just when I remember how to post from Imgur, they’ve changed the format so I can only upload a link! Not sure if this works but here’s a few shots from XC clinic yesterday.

Very glad I went as we haven’t done as much xc due to the ground, and I’m there for a little ode next weekend and got to practice some of the lines. It’s a tiny ode but they have a couple of tricky lines jumping in and out of woods which caught out loads of people at the last event I went to watch.

Anyway, we started out a bit hesitant, had a bit of nap episode, still need to work on my position especially my hands (neckstrap came in handy), but overall we did ok and had a fun day out.

After a bit of a disaster at Llany last weekend we went to our local show to do better in the SJ (eliminated at fence 6 at Llany after 2 stops at fence 5... totally lost our mojo). We did the 75cm and were one of two clear rounds so did our first ever jump off - beaten by the whizzy pony and the brilliant kid riding him - but apparently there wasn't much in it so I was more than happy to pick up second place! Then we did the 80cm speed class and again picked up second place. Really pleased with her, so different from the previous week. I'm sure it was me putting a lot of pressure on us and we both shut down - this time we had fun and she was just waiting to be shown the next fence. Clearly we will benefit from more competition experience - which is the plan as we're off to an ODE next weekend :)

I was wondering how you got on at llanymynech. Don't be hard on yourself, as the weather wasn't great, and quite a lot of people had problems. Glad you had a better time SJ.
My daughter is having a go at a ODE next weekend ( smallwood) She hoping to get round, and then have a go at kelsall.

We had a fab time at Burghley, it really is the best event around. Then when had a quick trip on sunday to do SJ with Aria. She just did the discovery, and jumped fabulous. Just one down in the jump off, but jumped the rest superb. I was really pleased with her as the last round she did was the BE90, so these where a tad bigger. She sometimes just does enough, so I always wonder how much more scope she has. On a few of the bigger oxers, she showed she definitely has the ability to go up some levels. I think she will do one more BE, and then have some time off .

I had the best time on the Newmarket Heath Ride. I traveled for over 2.5 hours on my own with an ex racehorse to ride around the racecourse and gallops. I think everyone thought that I was mad, especially the organisers when I said that I was heading out to do the 20 miles on my own but Sam is just such a special horse. He galloped like the wind up the course and gallops but then walked or trotted on the buckle end the rest of the time whilst horses galloped away and past him. For someone that loves horse racing as much as I do, it was so special to be riding in the hoofprints of so many great horses and as I approached the start of the 9 furlong Al Bahathri gallop, I'm not ashamed to admit to shortening my stirrups by about 5 holes and properly gave it some pretending I was actually racing! For a fatty with a gammy arm riding a horse that damaged both tendons racing we didn't do a bad job!! Still buzzing now!

That sounds amazing and I'd have done exactly the same!

Love that pic in the water Bernster. Well done on 2 blue frillies Mairiwick.

We took Jumping-Jenny for her first SJ with us. Katie borrowed her from her sister for the first round as Ginny is out of action. Jumped a super speedy clear to win the 70. Then Izzy jumped her in the 80/85 and had 4 faults just catching a pole on the 2nd element of the final double. But she jumped her little heart out. What a lovely pony.

Then Amber and I did an 80 and a 90 class (last 4 fences 95). She knocked 1 down in the 80 when I forgot where I was going and steered her into it sideways... Oops. And 4 down in the 90/95. All my fault - I have spent so long training her to wait/wait/wait that now I have the opposite problem and she gets in too deep. Need to get my eye in and present her better. But I have never jumped a 90cm class before so very pleased to be able to get round safely. She was very calm and controlled which is FABULOUS given how wild she was a few months ago.
