Hello,

Am on the avon website looking at the skin so soft stuff as I hear it's highly recommended for insect repellent properties. Which versions do people use for people and or ponies? Am I looking at the right thing? http://avonshop.co.uk/product/bath-and-b...body-spray.html

Thanking you.

Hi
I heard good things about it as well, but when i used it on my TB mare she had a urticaria reaction- she had all bumps over her where i had sprayed it! Maybe that is just her though! I have heard many people use it with no problems.

That would be daft of them since they sell bottles of the stuff for that reason alone!

Certainly the stuff we have seems to be working.

I thought that when I heard that but I remember reading somewhere that the ingrediaents had changed and it wasn't working so well. It was the old white bottle with green lids I used to use and after I read that I didn't bother buying more - take it I should give it a go again?

A lot of deer stalkers, ghillies and woodsmen use this on their legs, as it keeps ticks at bay.

As I understand it, when Avon took the fly repellent version off the market, there was such an adverse reaction from agents selling it to 'outdoor' people, that they reintroduced it.

i use it for my sweet itch mare and i think it works much better thany anything. i douse her in it head to toe! they often do a half price offer so i order 15-20 bottles at a time!!

I got a catalouge put thru my door last night and I was also trying to work out which one to buy - so thank you for the post. In the door to door catalouge it is £1.75 as well.

it is used by the Forces as a midge repellant, apparently they buy it by the box load- so reckon its good stuff
i have put some in my fly spray, certainly not done any harm
