awkward rub..

My horse has got a rub on his withers, im guessing from his tack.
He has a poly pad as he is only ridden in an exercise saddle (poor boy can't do GP saddles). I can't ride until its healed and its a bit painful.
It's healing fine but have no idea what to do when I ride him again, as it's just going to do the same thing...
Does anyone know of any life saving materials I can put underneath his poly pad to stop it rubbing?

do you mean a race exercise saddle?
The poly pad shouldnt rub. Does the saddle fit him properly? Has it ever had any accidents (like being dropped on its pommel, etc) that could have broken the tree?

Yeh that's it. It fits him fine, it came with him and I've known him for 3 years and its never happened before had it all checked though and everythings fine so can't really understand it :/
