i must admit i did the same as oldie 48, mine was diagnosed at 20 and in the end was on 4 prascend daily, i kept her with normal length of turnout but limited feed to a small amount of light chaff for her supplements as i felt that she was better living a normal life for a shorter time...i decided quality of life was the most important thing and she became footy in september last year at age 25 and her last day was spent on good grass and a big bowl of carrots for the final minutes....we all do things differently so maybe your mum has the same sort of idea, but i agree its not her place to decide...hope you can get this sorted without falling out....good luck
