I broke my L1 almost 4 months ago after being thrown from my horse BUT Im now recovered and got back on last week! :)

It was FAR from easy, my legs went to jelly! I was actually shaking with one foot in the stirrup and the other wobbling on the floor!! I bottled it and told my friend I wasnt ready BUT as I walked away I felt VERY sad.......so turned around to give it another go.....now little strange BUT my boy stands 30 secs for you to mount and we're off normally and NO exaggeration, he stood still and quiet for a good 10 mins while I trembled on the mountain block by his side!! foot in the stirrup, foot out the stirrup, scratch his neck, sh** myself a little more, kind of went like that for some time, it was almost like he knew and was letting me know it was OK to get on, like the last time he let me know it wasnt OK to get on but I didnt listen SO this time I listened to him, starting singing 'zipped-de-doo dar!!!' why that song I have no idea BUT in a split second, I was on!!! :-) Im fine when on and actually cantered him through the woods 1st ride, it feels SO good to be back.......Ive ridden 5 times this week, I must admit Im VERY nervous when mounting but once on loving EVERY min :-)

I guess I just wanted to share my joy and hope it gives others in my position encouragement :-)

Very well done you. I know how it feels to get back in the saddle after an accident, that was me earlier this year after I had a broken wrist. What is your L1? In your back Im guessing..

Well done and it does get easier - I broke both ankles very badly coming off my tb, my first time back on was on my sister's cob who is rock steady, I went round with someone walking right next to me and was still shaking 10 minutes later!

It does get easier and your confidence will come back :D

I hope my confidence will return to what it was before, I was always the one who'd jump on and off to open gates etc no way I'd get on him without a Mounting block and someone with me just yet

Well done Angelz..it's my turn next week after an 8 weeks break..no not break, must not break again  I led my friends baby Arab today and was really pleased with myself .

Well done, I think the fact I had to handle the horses everyday (starting 4 weeks after the fall) helped me get back on so quick, I think had I turned them away or put on livery I wouldn't be anywhere near ready. I was tacking up etc for my friend to ride over the summer, she kindly kept him in work for me so I didn't have a double whammy of getting back on and bringing him back into work! I've also got a 16 month old so had to handle him to-its been interesting to say the least!
