Albert, our young cat, has just brought in a baby starling. It was still alive and cheeping and he dropped in on the floor in the conservatory. Cue Ruby spangle off like a shot to see what the fuss was about. Before I could get there she had picked it up very gently and she brought it straight to me, presented and then dropped!!!!
Poor little bird had only a few feathers and a bloody leg so Ive deposited him quietly in the shrubbery in the hope that having now fed the said naughty cat he wont feel the need to bring me any more presents for a while.
Im really pleased with Ruby though, she hasnt had anything live in her mouth and we dont have a feathered dummy so to bring it right to me in the presence of two cats and a collie is really impressive in my eyes.
Poor little bird.
