Blumin heck I think my parents could do better than that and they havnt ridden before
poor little thing would love to see what she's like with a competent rider
Haha most probably! Although we beg to differ! Gosh, another one that seriously needs lessons and is a danger to themselves and the horse
Poor mare, and the no doubt thousands like her!
Yes J&C...and KVH and myself would have to visit of course!
I hope she ends up with a truly "competent novice" anyway!

Ireland, im not surprised! They have a different attitude to riding and jumping than we do and well, it works for some, not for others. I personally would not ride like that but come on, we all have our off days...
Sorry, I take a lot of offence at this comment!! I'm from Ireland, I must ride awful.
PS. The commentator is my friend, he is an excellent commentatorHe often does it on a quad in the middle of a field, resulting in a very red face

In fairness, I've seen many examples of riding like this from the UK, and a few people over here are actually quite good riders/jumpers![]()
Oh i didnt mean to offend! i just meant that the Irish are more laid back and not worried about being 'perfect' whatever gets the job done. I love the way the Irish are with their horses and they are talented![]()

Flamin hell, if you read my comment after i said it was badly worded.
I said i like the way its laid back in most parts. Sure there are going to be perfectionists and blah blah but im saying my experiences in ireland (goresbridge, clifden, galway etc) they arent all like it, they are just country guys and their ponies, who gives a damn about perfect position? Yes, he wasnt riding brilliantly but im sure we have all been bad at some point.
Of course i should have worded it better but oh god, i apologise and try and explain but i guess my head is still on the block? haha. Oh dear...
Well I rather think if we all kept our thoughts to ourselves there would be no forum. I agree however, that people shouldn't be mean. But, you have to agree the standard of the riding was way below par and that was on every fence. This isn't a nasty comment, just an observation.
hehe sorry only read that there nowaww it just seems we get alot flack on this forum for what the minority does or the way they act!! It just gets very frustrating! sorry...
my old instructors daughter was terrible. we both started learning together and rode the same horse but Grey would quite often buck the daughter off or plant her feet until she dismounted, with me she was more likely to go off on a wander to find some jumps and never bucked me off or refused me anything. the daughter would sit on her flapping her arms and legs and yanking her mouth about, yet i was always chosen to ride her at gymkhanas..wonder why.
It was typical though, I was the good one who couldnt afford my own and she was the horrible one whose mummy bought her no end of horses. I cant imagine where id be now if our places were traded. i was so good when i was younger![]()
Looks a bit like the riding during the decathlon in the Olympics!!!
