OK, what is everyone gonna do tonight with their horses? Ours are out at night and in in the day. Do I turn out tonight with rugs on? or am I being mean and should I keep him in with nice big hay net? Lightweight not really gonna a lot tonight, so may need a slightly heavier rug to keep him warm and dry (he's a TB and gets cold v quickly), and they don't have any shelter in their field so not like they can hide under a tree!

In some respects I'm all for turning out, but then some of the people up my yard are real 'wimps' and will frown on me for turning out, I mean, we have shetland ponies at our yard that have rugs on at the mo!!!!

Answers on a postcard please???!!!!!

I have two Tb's, neither of which are wimps, I think I'll be keeping them in tonight with haynets, they have been out all day in the rain and will prob be soaked through....

Unless the weather improves drastically then I'd say leave him in

Mine is an ISH who is normally out - but tonight he can come in, poor wet pony!

My mare at home will be in. She is in already as she HATES the rain lol! My WB is on a livery yard tho. He has been in since about 10.30, but if no-one else is keeping theirs in tonight I think I'll have to turn him out in a rug. If it's not got any better though I might make him stay in on his own (he doesn't really care so long as he has food!)

Oh no, don't! I'm meant to be hard-hearted now as mine is out of work and roughed off. She has slight shelter under some trees but not much, and none at all if the 3yo she's out with hogs the trees! So mine can't have a rug on really but I'm going to feel really bad!
I imagine the rest of the yard (out at night, in in day) will be in if it's bad... more to save the ground though than to keep them dry. If they're out they'll be rugged.

OK think he could be in tonight then, don't feel to bad now as nearly everyone else doing same thing! - he's been in all day though, so might chuck him out till bout 9pm, then pop up and bring him in, least then he's had a leg stretch!

But then I look out my office window and it's bright blue sky and glorious sunshine, WHAT IS GOING ON!!!!!

Both mine are out at night - Cruz will be out tonight as usual but Spider is in as someone is coming to look at her tomorrow she will just go out for an hour this afternoon.

Cruz will have a rain sheet on though

Im all for keeping them out come what may! They are horses that is what nature intended! I bit of rain wont kill him!
However having re-read your post if you have no shelter in your fields maybe that is a bit unfair. Keep him in or you wont rest tonight if the storms do hit in!

Mine are staying out without rugs. It's so muggy they'd boil to death.

Plenty of shelter out of the rain available.

Shetland pony hasn't worn his NZ for over a year!

it has been torrential rain and now glorious sunshine.... 2 hours ago I was bemoaning the fact that my boy was out and had made the decision to bring in as soon as I got home. Now it is glorious!
I still think I will bring him in, just for the sake of a chill out if nothing else.

my arab and WB will both be out tonight with rainsheets (not that mean :-)). Luckily both mine hate being in so its an easy decision although which rug to put on is a bit more difficult....

AAAAAHHHHHH - don't know what to do now!!!!!!!!

Think will decide later! Sharer doing him tonight anyway - so just need to let her know what I decide!!! I hate England and this pants weather, are we actually gonna get a summer this year - me thinks not!

Mine will be in, it'll do them good to come off the grass for a while. Can't bring myself to rug up in July, much rather they had somewhere dry to lay down. Can't be very nice lying down on soggy ground all the time.

Donkey does not like to be wet, Donkey does not like to be cold, Donkey loves to snuggle up, dig craters and burrow into her bed at night - so Donkey will be in as always, hopefully she will already be in.

Donkey is rugged as she is trying to sprout a fluffy coat

Um yes, but no one has told her that

- she would bring herself in if she could, stable has warm bed and a ready supply of food that involves standing still to eat - one happy Donkey!

Oh dear reading most of those it looks like I'm a right softie!! My TBx girl has been in all day and will be all night with a summer sheet on. Altho in my defence I think I am in one of the wettest areas - our roads are now more like rivers!! and she does shiver as soon as she gets the slightest bit damp!

Big mares will stay out, probably without rugs although may put one on my WB. Arab and pony, I will decide when I see how miserable they look!!

Ours are all staying out naked!!! We have no straw to keep them in with anyway and i am (obv) a mean mummy!!

Mine have benn in all dya as well, they looked so miserable this morrning stood under the tree absolutly soaked, they couldnt wait to get in and fill their faces with hay
