I don’t blame them at all for withdrawing if the horse isn’t 100%. It must be a difficult call to make, but if there is even a tiny doubt, it’s absolutely the right thing to do.

Only just catching up on todays dressage and I’m watching Emma Thomas & Icarus go around, SO tense (jockey doing a fab job) and yet he is getting 6 for some movements which other horses did a hell of a lot better and also got 6 or even lower. The scoring is odd this year.

Every year they seem to start off so harshly with marks and get more generous as the competition goes on. It just seems wrong. They ought to be made to watch the ones from day one that were harshly judged again at the end of day two, see if they’d adjust! Or the riders should be able to give them a mark out of ten to express their satisfaction with the judging!

On a more serious note. All over social media I’m seeing issues with Badminton tv not working properly. As a technophobe is it worth me getting it? I’m working tomorrow anyway and it’s sunny so I might be busy. I might end up waiting for the. BBC summary!

Works perfectly via the app on my tv, and was working well on my phone too

I had a lovely day at Badminton today, bizarrely after the last few weeks and months it was sunny and boiling enough to feel like August rather than May. For those of you going tomorrow I'd recommend sun cream and a hat as there were a lot of burnt people by the end of the day 🦞😲

The ground feels amazing, dry enough not to be slippery but with bounce underneath from the wet winter. I suspect there will be some really quick times tomorrow, especially compared to last year.

It’s incredible how the weather has turned around. We decided not to go because we were certain it would be a wash out/mud bath.
I bought tickets quite late for that reason, and it's also why I decided to go today rather than tomorrow (after seeing the state of it by the weekend last year). I know they had said tickets hadn't sold particularly well by the end of April, but it was really busy today so I presume there were lots of last minute bookings. It's difficult to plan when you have to fit it in with work though, and the weather has been so unreliable so far this year.

And another one… Laura C and Hester - final circle 5 from judge at B and 7 & 7.5 from the others when it was a really nice circle… the judging has been really harsh on many riders this year.

Good morning, happy xc day…hopefully.
I am up and hoping to wear my dogs out so I can watch all the xc.
Just to say, I have found Badminton TV perfect, I have watched loads of dressage over the last two days, either just on my iPad or mirror imaging onto the tv.
Never a glitch, very quick to get in , no annoying adverts for the first five minutes as on Horse &Country. Everything perfect.
Let’s hope for some excitement but safe and happy horses and riders.
Some sad withdrawals though.

Except they didn’t get generous they were harsh from beginning to end.

Happy XC day! I have ordered a Wendy’s breakfast and I’m plonking myself in front of the tv for the entire day - with my duvet! Needed it after this week

Well, that was fun. The Firestick app worked last weekend but was updated today, and now it says no account found. So browser it is, hope it doesn't get stuck caching.

Any options to log in etc? That's so frustrating.
