Anyone for team predictions for the euros? Obviously Ros, and Tom. But Ollie has a chance on Rosie I would think. But 4th position could still be open? Haven't seen much of London 52 yet? Maybe an individual slot for Harry?

Oli said in his interview that Rosie will be aimed at Burghley so I would expect to see her there rather than Euros. Ros might also take Walter to Burghley and Izilot to Euros, depending on how his 3 day goes this Spring.
I'd have had Gemma in until that SJ round, but maybe they still will as usually very reliable and he did just look tired. I’d also have Harry, Emily King and Tom on Dublin
 
Walter is great, don’t get me wrong, but please H&H get your facts right. Walter is not the first horse to win two Badmintons with a year in between …Sir Wattie did that in 1988/1986 and Supreme Rock did it back to back in 2002/2003. Plus Great Ovation 1971/2 and High & Mighty 1957/8

He's the first horse to reclaim the title in non-consecutive years - Sir Wattie's wins were back to back given the event was cancelled in 87.
 
How awkward was that prizegiving. It's like they don't practice at all for it. People milling about wondering whether their slot is finished and hanging around to see if they're called back.
 
One thing that does rile me about Oliver T is that he almost never thanks his staff in his posts. So many others now publicly thank their grooms but you just never see him do this

I have definitely heard him mention them in interviews, his staff have been with him for a very long time so he can't be too terrible to work for.

Sometimes I do think Ollie gets picked up for things that other riders don't, and sometimes can't win either way.

Interesting that it has been much busier on the Weds to Fri. Wonder if the word is getting out that the XC is best enjoyed viewing from home. Though only if the CMH feed works.

But it was super busy, and totally suffocating in the shopping area. Was quite hard to get remotely close to any of the rider frighteners. Last time I do a Saturday!

It was 100,000 the year it sold out after the Covid cancellations in 2022 and that was limited because of Covid restrictions…so imagine it was a lot more this weekend and sold out. So probably more like 200,000 that someone quoted

More than 200,000 as usual. It's in fact one of the biggest sporting events in the world. It was fine for us. I have been going most years since 1991, so I probably know how to avoid the busy areas.....We arrived at around 8:30am, had breakfast and went shopping before XC started. We walked the whole course, although we didn't bother staying in the popular areas and carried on walking. Amazingly, the Quarry wasn't so busy by the time we reached there!

I'm not an Oli fan, but I try to be fair, and I've heard him praise and give credit to his team on multiple occasions.
