I'll be going to Badminton for the first time ever this year. A friend and I are volunteering for World Horse Welfare on the Sunday afternoon (around 4-7pm ish) and in return we get free entry and parking for the day. So we can spend most of the day watching the Shettie Grand National and the XC before trying to convince people to give up their money for a good charity. :)

Will any of you be going and if so when? I'm really looking forward to it.

:( Haven't been for years, it is too far.
Enjoy yourself, are you just going on the Sunday?

I'm going on Sunday too!!!!

Hope the weather stays nice. I have just bought a new pair of comfy ariat boots specifically for walking around the course....woops! :)

Me! :D We always go on xc day. I go with my non-horsey mum. She loves it! She can never believe the size of the fences. The first time we went she said the f word about 10 times as she watched the first horses run! :D

Hi we're camping from Thurs - Mon. My plan is to leave early on the Thursday and have the tent up so I can watch the trot up in the afternoon.... Weather looks awful for Thursday night and Friday morning so I'm really hoping the tent I just bought of ebay is going to be waterproof!! Really excited! We camped last year for the first time and I couldn't believe how big the campsite was and the buzz there. Quite looking forward to watching the grass roots champs on the Friday too - should be good!

I'm going Saturday, Sunday & Monday! Can't wait, never been before, looking forward to seeing the fences in real life!!!

me, going with the OH on Sunday, although the weather so I'm told is going to be pants :(

but who cares, it's rain not acid :D although not great for the riders though.

Ohhh, I'm gonna try and spot you!!! I will be wearing a blue t-shirt with a cartoon horses face on it and I'm lanky and blonde :)

Me..... but I will be on a Trade Stand for 4 solid days so will be lucky to see a horse :( Must remember to set Sky to record while I'm away :D

No (sob... ). I was supposed to be camping for the 4 days, but accidentally took too much advantage of the free wine at a PC do over easter and somehow voulenteered my services as jump judge for one of their events this weekend. So instead of watching the pros in the colt pond, I will be watching 11 yr old children bin it in a muddy pond on the XC course. Somehow not quite the same!

I am meant to be going on the Sunday however am currently on box rest due to knee surgery and trying to work out how I a)get there and b) get around once there... meant to be going on the Sunday so if any of you see someone hobbling around on crutches - that'll be me - be nice!!! hehe!!

lanky and blonde....that narrows it down :D

but the blue t-shirt with the cartoon horse faces might give me a bit of a clue....although you could of narrowed it down even more by wearing a Joules top, then they may a slight problem! :D

Just look out for someone dragging their OH around on leash, he'll be the one carrying all my shopping :D I'll be carrying his wallet :D

If I wear my dubarrys, a joules polo shirt and borrow a border terrier you should be able to pick me out :D

Me in said horse t-shirt!

Yep, I'm going on Sunday (and poss Saturday) :D can't wait, although it always makes me want to go out eventing myself, so a bit sad not to be competing at all this year :(

Me and my 19yo neice are going - its our 'anty/neice bonding' day, we usually do a couple of days out a year like this........better warn my bank account!! We are going on the sunday, you will recognise us as we will be weighed down with freebies as we have a competition every year as to who can get the most!! ;-)

I am going on SUNDAY for a girlie day out with another HHO-er!! Champagne, strawbs, posh blanket, hamper(hopefully no rain!) and you will recognise us because we will be giggling a lot and swooning over Willy and Oli :) CANT WAIT!!! Shop shop shop and entering all of the competitions in hope to fill my tack room full of goodies!

I'll be there all days, just look for a fat, lazy choc lab and that'll prob be Frank. And if the people with the dog are little and large (I'm 5'4, friend just over 6') then you'll be sure it's me! ;);)

I'm going Saturday with my mum, and Sunday with my boyfriend :)

Non-horsey boyfriend has been to Highclere and Larkhill so far and has liked them both - I don't think he realises just how different Badminton is..! And he keeps saying "I can't wait to go to Wimbledon at the weekend" Bless him!

I'm excited :D

I'm going Thurs- Monday..

I'll be the one with the folder with site maps, menus from the stools, competition riders lists etc etc all around me and with a look of sheer glee on my face.

Yes, I'm a first timer... :p

Same here! In Australia mum and I would go to Adelaide and Melbourne every year. She never had much of a clue but always enjoyed it and could never get over the fence size (I still can't quite often!)

Would love to go to Badminton this year but just can't make it! :( Earliest train isn't early enough from London and all the car rental places aren't operating.
