So, little cocker spaniel was out of sorts yesterday, signs of sickness, didn't eat her tea last night. Not on death's door but she just wasn't her usual 'spaniel' self.
I had an inkling...in the past I have seen signs that she has coughed up a stone that she's swallowed...and just though what if there is one stuck somewhere. Off we trundled to our local surgery after ringing the out of hours number. Vet kept her in and ex-rayed her and then we got the phonecall to say there was a blockage. So, they operated and removed a stone (quite a decent size) from her stomach - it had travelled down all the tubes!!
So now we have a very sorry looking little dog and a HUGE vet bill. But feeling good that we took her when we did as things could have been a lot worse. Always best to trust your instinct.
Might consider getting insurance for her....
