Remember that poor horse that was put out in a mud paddock with its head tied down? Had a training dummy strapped to it too.
Videos were circulated v quickly. Reports also of others with vile treatment too.
Cannot find the thread from last year.

Well, the producer has been banned, initially in February it was 6 years, but then he appealed (so 1st hearing wasn't publicised).
On appeal being hear this week, they took a harder stance and banned him for 8 years, good!

Yes saw that. Not sure if that then covers other societies as well or if the Showing Council then adopt it. Am sure it is covered somewhere.

Thought this was very positive on their website too:

Thank you for finding that.

I wish I hadn't watched that video, poor horse.

Is he banned from keeping horses or just from being the figurehead name on entries in showing?
The latter as far as I can see.
He ought to be banned from attending any shows and having any connections to horses entered.

Banned from keeping horses would be even better!

There are plenty of people supporting him on his social media page. I've had a horse competing against him in MW's and the dope was so evident, even at Hoy's. The horse was barely standing in the line up.

Also tried several at his premises, not a good experience, this was before the incident resulting in the bans. It is encouraging to see the various bodies taking the same stance.

His response I suppose he has a point, it will be interesting what come of this

“Now let’s get one thing straight here. So I’ve been banned.
Now I’m not going down the if’s or why’s but I’m on about sanctions and penalties…
A dressage rider is videoed whipping a horse repeatedly and gets a 1 year ban.
A showing producer physically hits another producer and gets 1 year ban.
A showjumper is seen beating a horse in the ring and gets nothing.
A show producer is seen beating a horse in the collecting ring and gets asked by the steward to load the horse and take it home.
I get a video taken on my premises of a horse out with tack on and get banned for 6 years then appeal to that and it goes up to 8 years.!!!
🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️

That was his response!

Utterly vile.
Obviously he's not mentioned his previous ban for using bromide.

Absolutely no apology whatsoever.

V glad to see that Penny Hollings has posted on her page, hopefully others will do so too.

Which he has now removed as the commenting wasn't going his way...
He's re posted a 'statement' a few minutes ago. No apology, no remorse, just whataboutery....

What is bromide used for? (She asks mildly terrified of what the answer will be).
I thought it was just a lab chemical
