Four years ago my horse had a bad abcess in one foot and x rays showed some rotation. After 4 years of various heartbars, pads etc she now has a much more normal looking sole and has ordinary shoes in front and has had none behind for 4 years, hinds look fine, flare a little in between farrier but she is a big horse. My problem is she keeps pulling the fronts off leaving a raggy hoof wall with less to nail into everytime. Been out this morning same one off again after 3 weeks, luckily its not the foot with the rotation. I turn her out it thick overreach. Going to ring farrier later and ask him about the possibility of her going barefoot. Anyone with any experiance of this or am i going to cause more harm than good
