The majority of horses are in on our yard tonight, apart from a few who don't like being stabled. Our fields are very open and exposed so they were all happy munching in their cosy internal stables when I left tonight.
2 trees down! Luckily they fell away from my 2 and into an empty paddock. I did find mine the wrong side of their electric fencing, but looking at where the poo was in their field I think the escape was not long before I got there rather than them running through it.
The landowner has been trying to get the preservation order lifted on a row of poplar trees for a while, so hopefully the council will agree to it now and they can come down.
Fingers crossed then.
I am delighted to report that, even though I woke up a few times last night and could hear the wind, we had no damage at all, except for one tub with a jasmine plant that had tipped over at an angle.
However I put the horses out at lunchtime (hay would have blown away if they'd gone out in the morning), without rugs and they got soaked about 6 and were looking very miserable and 'a bit' shivery, when we brought them in at 7 pm.
Thank goodness it looks as if the weather will have calmed down tomorrow.
