I didn't see Ruth's round yesterday & didn't realise that Mayhem gave her such a tricky ride - well done to her

hmm, really think they should have tried backing Tankers Town in, or she should have jumped off, led him in, and got legged up, cos that's what worked at Belton appara.
i think Drivetime had a flashback to his fall at the fence in the water last year (was it at Pau?), he was going so well up till then. real shame.

Does anyone have any news on the girl (Penny somebody) who came off quite badly yesterday?

Much as I think Scotty's right about Apache Sauce's bit, still love watching Mary

i don't think i can bear to watch Mary King on Apache Sauce again. very defensive seat is all very well but socking him in the chops in midair with an American gag... ewww. good job he obviously loves his xc, i can think of lots of horses who would say "stuff you".

That's what they did (showed it on the full BBCi coverage), Sharon got off, led him in, had a leg up and got eliminated for outside assistance!

They said something yesterday about her having a head injury and being at Frenhay hospital in Bristol. Don't think they thought it was serious serious but thats all I know.

i thought she got eliminated for that because 3 people on the floor had been bashing him from behind and trying to lead him in for a minute and a half. i think a leg-up would be allowed...

I think she was eliminated for outside assistance and also for not starting within 1 minute.

Never saw the Italian (not gonna attempt to spell his name!) ride yesterday but he looks great actually and the horse is class

in Mary's interview about AS's way of jumping she seemed to think that was just him, just his unorthodox style... I thought it was cos she was hanging onto such a strong leverage bit in mid-air.

I don't think I've ever seen him in anything else though - perhaps I'm being naive but can't see Mary being the sort of rider to not try everything in her tack room to help his going? Wonder what he went in when she first started him at PN?

who is the presenter guy? isw he actually horsey?

[/ QUOTE ]

if you mean Mike Tucker, yes, he's our very own Colemanballs of equestrianism. he gets things wrong all the flipping time.
i couldn't believe that yesterday, even after watching about 60 go xc, he had no idea of whether they would make the time or not and got it wrong nearly every time! SJ commentators watch 1 go in a jump off and note what time they were on at various fences. MT seems incapable of this!
