I've just been emailed - as I have done jump training etc

However it does not explain how it works (not very good for attracting new members if they don't tell you how you actually get this!)

Please can someone log on and give me the low down?

Ooh, yes, well done I was about to ask the same thing. However, as it is so hard to track down the details i.e. you seem to have to become a member before you find them out, my cynical mind suspects it will be a bit of a swizz e.g 7p off at all Murco petrol stations, or from one particularly petrol station in the back end of beyond!!! I look forward to being proved wrong!

From what I can see, you get a discount on buying supermarket vouchers, which can also be used in supermarket petrol stations. So for Sainsbury's you save 5%, Asda is 10% and Morrisons is 5%

Will be useful for me since I fill the lorry up at Sainsbury's mostly!

ETA, that works out at about a 7p/l discount on diesel for me - price where I fill up is 133.9/l, 75l (give or take) is £100, 133.9-7 = 126.9; 126.9x75 = £95 (again give or take the few extra pence); £100 of vouchers at a 5% discount costs £95.

The trouble with fuel savings is they sound great (7p a l sounds like loads), but they never add up to more than a few quid!

Hmm will be interesting what others say as I have logged in and am still a bit confused. I don't think its a general offer, you have to buy petrol cards or something

"We want to make sure that the soaring price of fuel doesn't affect you getting to your favourite events; so take advantage of the supermarket re-loadable gift cards and vouchers to save up to 5% on your fuel bill. "

It only applies to Morrisons, Sainsbury's and Asda which isn't any use to me anyway :)

Here is the link. Unsure of exclusive connection with BE but could be wrong..... You need to purchase fuel vouchers in advance to receive the discount.

No but over a year it's a few extra pounds in your pocket rather than the petrol stations/governments!

I think BE should be congratulated on this actually - credit where it's due and all that. Have had a very quick skim through the offers (and there are loads), and can see a few things that I could use.

Well done BE! :D

Well I did the questionaire (couple of months ago) and said that yes I would be interested in having fuel vouchers - nowhere in the questions did it say "would you like to sign up for a long winded and complicated buy a voucher scheme!" :(

I've just logged in to look at this thinking I would just click a button and some nice person would email me some vouchers for being a good BE-er. Oh no, you have to buy some kind of card which then gets you 5% off fuel at Morrisons, Sainsbury's of Asda. I might be being thick but I didn't see one for 7% I cannot be 'a**ed' to do this - am I the only one?

Also, am I the only miserable sceptic that believes this is just another way of tracking peoples personal details and spending habits in order to sell on....

Hot and very grumpy today - can you tell?

Other interesting ones:

15% Cashback from anything bought from NEW (good for boots!)
£4 off bailey's balancer
10% off at Hotel Chocolat
11% discount at Debenhams
10% discount at House of Fraser

Pretty much all of the discounts seem to require you to buy a gift card/vouchers then redeem them though, which does mean planning ahead, but actually, these are far more useful benefits than the ones they used to have, so I do think BE have done a really good thing for the members here!

No, I completely agree with you! I wasn't being miserable about it, just saying that (same as when you get the voucher at the checkouts), you get all excited about getting 5p off/litre, fill up the car and it is about £2.50 cheaper, and I always feel strangely disappointed. I don't know why I expect it to be so much more of a discount, maybe it's just me!!

35% off my RAC renewal and 50% off MOTs are extremely welcome!! Thanks BE, my long suffering husband come supergroom might actually stop moaning for 10 minutes about just how much money I splurge out the door :D:D:D

Well spotted for the MOT one (under cars and accessories not garage services) - my MOT is actually due this month!

Sounds good, and tbh is tempting me to reconsider my "never eventing at BE again" thoughts, as they actually add up to decent savings... bit annoyed I can;t see the full details without being a member though!!!!

The offer I can see for Sainburys is:
Place an order for £150 or more of Sainsbury's gift vouchers or gift cards in August and you will be automatically entered in to a prize draw for a chance to win one of TWO Sainsbury's gift cards each loaded with £250!

I can't see anything about money off fuel? I think I am having a blonde afternoon so apologies......

There is also a discount, so (for example), £100 of vouchers will cost you £95 as there is a 5% discount. A 5% discount applied to current fuel prices equates to roughly 7p/l - see my post with calculations in it higher up - it is save 5% as well as the competition. So you buy the vouchers/gift card, spend £95 and get £100 of vouchers, then spend them in the petrol station, which means you get a discount, because your original voucher purchase was discounted.

I don't think Sainsbury's is fuel as it just says groceries. I think it's just Morrissons that is fuel.

nope if you click through sainsbury's clearly says groceries AND fuel :)

and lifted from Sainsbury's website

"7.4 Sainsbury’s gift vouchers and gift cards may be exchanged for goods in all Sainsbury’s stores and petrol stations. They may not be used to purchase goods or services online."

great for my car but I really would love it for the lorry but all the supermarket petrol stations near me won't take an 18 ton HGV

No use to me either. We have plenty of Tesco petrol stations but my nearest Asda, Sainsburys and Morrisons petrol stations are 30 mins - an hour away.

the edenred link seems to be open to all though, so that you wouldn't have to be a BE member to receive the 11% of debenhams and alike that SC listed

Only if someone logs in and posts the link to the purchase page I think! Whoever that was might want to delete it as that's kind of not the point, is it?! Though Edenred might also want to look at their security. There are a whole host of other things on there which you can only see as a logged in member - presumably unless someone posts the direct link to them!

guys this is an example of a very badly executed affiliate/cashback/reward scheme.

If you seriously want to save money to help your BE budget use your Tesco vouchers online (they are worth 3x as much online) and join a big cashback site like Quidco where you can save money across many more retailers.

ISZ you were spot on, I work in this industry and yes it is also and always a way to collect data! mwhahahhahaha

But I don't shop in Tescos and Quidco doesn't give any kind of cashback on Sainsbury's grocerys or vouchers from what I can see. So I can't be better off using Quidco for Sainsbury's can I? Perhaps I am missing something.

Why is it badly executed?
