Trying to decide whether to go to Beacons for the My Quest Regionals this year. It's a long way from us, I know they have stabling available, but is there anywhere for me to stay? It'll be pony's first overnight show so I want to be close by!

Considering sleeping in the lorry but it's very basic and won't even be able to make a cup of tea... and the pony poos a LOT while travelling and I'm not sure I fancy sleeping too close to that :D

If you don't hear from anyone on here I'd suggest giving the organisers a call to ask them, I've found them really helpful in the past.

I've camped in my 3.5t when I've been there. I take a camping stove and torch lantern, this year I also took my laptop and did some work while I was waiting for my class :D I took an old blanket to put on the floor and then air bed on that which stayed clean.
They do have hook up there, I also have a cable which turns hook up into normal plug sockets but have yet to need it.

Stables are excellent FWIW, really quiet and relaxing for the horses. Kira has settled really well there, I've stayed overnight on 2 occasions.

Thanks milliepops :)

Trying to ring them but no-one's picked up the phone so far :D

I don't have a hook up unfortunately, I do have a gas hob but would have to get some gas, might be worth thinking about.

We will be in the third class, and there will be a maximum of 20 per class - if they start at 8am my class wouldn't be until 11 ish, so now I'm wondering if I should drive down that morning... although it's 3 hours by Google maps, so would be longer in a lorry, and I think it might be too much travelling in one day for him...

Yeah I've opted to stay each time because it's a 200 mile round trip for me which can be 2 hours, or can be 3+ hours each way depending on the state of the M4 :p last time I wasn't on til 4.30 :eek3: so had a lot of time to kill but was glad not to have had to do all the driving in a day, and also nice to get on a refreshed horse.

Wow, that's a long way! We're only 100 miles away, but the journey is all through Wales, so smaller roads. I think we'll need to stay over. Just looking at air beds at Wilkos! :D

Its a lovely place, friendly people. Ive never stayed as its only an hour from me but facilities are what you would expect ( all show centres tend to be abit grim on the shower front)

Ha ha, better plan to pack some baby wipes and a lot of deodorant :D My shopping list is growing rapidly. Who knew I'd need so much stuff for one night in the lorry?!

Think I need to upgrade to one with better living and a hookup :D
