Beast from the east 2 Weekend plans!

Jumping was cancelled yesterday, schooled them both Saturday- both very very fresh. Just let them have a roar round in the school yesterday.
Can summer hurry up please!!

This morning was worse because yesterday's slush has turned to ice. I checked out the arena, did a great arm waving in the air act to avoid falling over and decided that I might as well go to work and think about lunging / riding later in the day!

But the sun is out so hopefully the b***** stuff will melt. {the Ardennes will be cross, he's been in his element playing in the snowdrifts.....}

Mine went well - Hoshi did his first Novice test which we actually weren't really ready for, but didn't think he was learning much from Prelim. He only came home with 72.5% and a rosette :D Huge class too of about 45 and lots of incredible horses and riders who are far more established than us at that level.

Super pleased with him. We have a public holiday on Wednesday so taking him and my other ride to do some jumping. You have to have a certain number of clear rounds here before you can upgrade to the next height, and as I've just gone affiliated, I have to start at 90cm even with the experienced horse :( So Hoshi will be going to do his first ever 90s and second ever SJ show and the experienced horse will be going to do the 90s as well so that two shows from now we can do the 1m classes with him.

It was quite chilly here for the first time this year, had to break out a jumper!

Blue skies! Grass! Only one jumper! Oh, to be in the Antipodes these days!

(Also thinking j1ffy's runner may be a sprinter in training for the next Olympics!)

Well it's supposed to be tomorrow but now I'm hearing the beast from the east part 3 is due at Easter :(

But I finally did get out today... arena hire with some much needed SJ practise.

Funny wee pony, the arena has XC steps down into the arena so I parked him next to a step so I could get on. Just as my bum hit the saddle he turned round and jumped up the step lol he loves his jumping

Nooooooooo *sticks fingers in ears* I'm TOTALLY done with bl00dy easterly beasts :mad:

We also managed to get a cheeky arena hire in. Wanted to run through A105 for Saturday.... I think it will be OK, I fluffed the 4s because she started taking over and I sat there like a lemon :o but she did them well afterwards.

And then on very tired legs we had a quick look at the PSG test for the first time :eek3: Seemed like a good opportunity since we had a long arena...best to be prepared & all that... she was too tired to do the piris as they're green at the best of times but she was obedient in the tempis and the counter change of hand will be OK with a bit more practice (only started that last week :o). So feeling buoyed up by all that and looking forward to the next show :)

Kira is looking fab! I'm feeling the need to share your videos to prove it isn't just flashy warmbloods who can 'make it to medium' as I was told the other week. Hard work, dedication and pure talent help too :-)

Lol! we're just bumbling along having a go. Definitely not just the WBs that go above medium though - Kira has been SOOOO up for the advanced work, she loved learning the tempis and though it has taken a while for her to cotton on to the point of piris, she's getting there (I just need a full tank of petrol to pull them off well at the moment). She will piaffe well I think, half steps has come easy to her and she has a natural ability to sit. So she might not have the flamboyant paces but she does have other strengths, like most horses :)

It feels a bit silly to be trying to ride through the PSG test at the moment but the thing I learnt from Millie is not to sit about and wait for the perfect time, because you never know how long you've got left with them.

Good lord MP. Watched the first vid, there is so much going on in that test! I can't even remember a Prelim test. Flipping brilliant.
