Beautiful miniature labradoodles

I am so tempted as currently looking for a bitch, but promises my husband we'd adopt an adult rescue this time as our terrier is a tricky chap so we need to make sure it's a good fit from the start.

Dogatemysalad....no, I didnt put any up and then removed the advert before being told off. However, I'm now regretting putting said advert up because of the not so nice people that frequent this forum. Why does everyone have to be so opinionated? The world would be a lot nicer place if we could all get on.

Ah right it's just that you said there were nine available, not three.
Are the parents hip and elbow scored?
Just asking questions that any responsible breeder would be happy to answer :)

Yes, we have had numerous people ask us about our puppies but were concerned with the amount of hair that labs shed (horrendous!) So we chose to breed a low shedding type dog with intelligence, health and good nature. It wasn't done lightly or without prior thought.

And for everyone who is thinking of putting a negative comment about this...please don't bother.

If you're interested in buying one then I am happy to answer your questions. If you're not then please don't waste my time or your time. I put an honest advert up and took it down the moment I realised it shouldn't have been there. So please don't start a world war as that wasn't my objective.

Ah yeah, I would love to get my labs shedding under control but she's a lab! So it is what it is. I have 2 robot vacuums ?

I've just heard mixed reviews (mostly negative, unfortunately) on Labradoodles, and I've not seen any of the miniature variety so I was curious.

Unfortunately on a forum or the internet, there will always be negative comments or differing opinions. Just shrug 'em off.

I just asked, were there buyers not lined up already (you said nine were available, that's a lot to home, mine came from a dam scanned for three who had ten) and what the hip scores of the breeding animals were (with retrievers that's especially important), which most breeders are happy to shout from the rooftops, if the results are good, and will also help reassure buyers.

Yes....we specifically chose a miniature over a standard as we had done some research into them and were concerned with temperament and the amount of shedding still. Unfortunately a lot of people promise new owners that the puppies are none shedding when actually what they mean is that they are low shedding but still hypoallergenic.
We always breed for temperament and health and are so proud of the fact that we have dogs who assist children with a range of needs including autism and learning difficulties. We also have dogs go to be assistance dogs for people with ME and MS and regularly receive queries about our puppies even though we only breed maybe once a year. We are not big breeders by any stretch of the imagination...little breeders that concentrate on quality and are regulated and licensed by the council.

Back to the hair....its like a snow storm when we open the door, I have to hoover twice a day at the moment! Regular brushing seems to get rid of it quicker and a good bath and dry with a proper dog dryer works wonders!

Our pups are all black by the way...and extremely sweet. Putting on weight nicely each day and mum is very smitten with them ?

Couldn't agree more. We have bred, occasionally, for years and unfortunately went through the bad breeding experience ourselves when we bought our first dogs a long time ago and vowed to strive for health after losing our first two girls due to in breeding and health problems that could have been prevented with careful choices.
Over the years we have had a few dishonest people and a lot of timewasters so we have become a bit hardened to hearing the same questions asked....unfortunately this has led us to make sure that people are genuinely interested in having one of our puppies before we divulge any information.

The purpose of a dog that is hypoallergenic is to reduce the amount of allergens that cause that person to have a reaction. I believe there is a misconception that hypoallergenic means that someone can't be allergic to them. Yes, they still can, which is why NO dog is completely hypoallergenic but there are some which reduce problems with breathing allergies such as asthma or skin issues that are as a result of shedding.

No worries but IMO health test scores shouldn't be a secret whether someone is buying or not. Not saying just makes it look as if they're either above average or haven't been done. I know that's not your intention.

Hi Clodagh,

They are miniature poodle X lab.....sorry for the confusion. No misleading here, just miniature because of the breed standard size of the poodle we used.
Hip scores are no secret: 3/4 hips and clear eyes. We have absolutely nothing to hide.
Sire is health tested for everything under the sun and is clear of all hereditary diseases, I have his paperwork direct from the genetics company for this.

Definitely not my intention....I usually put them in my adverts but as I wasn't sure I was allowed to advertise I only put a small paragraph.
I agree...health tests should be mandatory and made readily available. Woyld soon stop a whole host of problems!
 
Thank you, and well done on having some health tests done. So Dad is the poodle? (I was thinking ouch otherwise!!). So I presume some grow lab sized but most end up in the middle and some poodle sized? A friend bred a litter of lab x spaniels and it was interesting how some tend to mum and some to dad.

Yes, dad was the poodle.
From what I have read about the genetics regarding size, coat and temperament, they tend to lean more to one side - either more poodley or more lab, never a complete mix of the two which again, is why both mum and dad needed to be 100% in health and temperament.
I'm very interested in keeping in touch with the new owners to see how they grow and what they become.

That’s interesting ?. I own a toy poodle (he’s not teeny tiny & he’s often. Is taken for a Cockapoo) and have spoken to lots of people over the years who are thinking of getting a dog and they ask about him. Most of them are after a poodle cross, mainly Cockapoo, and I always point out to them that they are not necessarily low shedding, some can shed a bit or as much as the breed crossed with.
A friend bought a jackapoo and he looks nothing like a poodle, just a long haired JR who sheds everywhere.
There are a few golden doodles near me, crossed with standards and they are huge. One is like a tall really lanky Shetland LOL
 
All the golden doodles round here are enormous and rather lairy:oops: they are like giant smelly grubby teddy bears who jump all over you most of the time. Lovely natures but not my type at all. The owners seem surprised at how big they have grown - but a standard poodle is hardly a medium size dog and some retrievers are huge so it should not be a shock.
There are a couple of seriously lovely standard poodles though and they are super.
