Would you lovely people recommend a bedding for my 20 year old gelding, at the moment he is on mats and shavings, but he is rather wet and tends to drag his bed around, was looking at cardboard or putting him on Bliss Bedding along with my girls, but thought I would put the question to you lovely knowledgable people. Thankies...

My mare is on mats and Natures Best...the shavings are pelletised that you activate by watering after i initially made her bed up I but the top up bags in softened pellets then let her mix them in a when they get wet (peed on ) they are more absorbant than normal shavings they have a website go have a sneaky peek

I like them and my mare is normally really messy...but she does all the work now

I personally cannot stand Bliss - I find it hard work! Have just put my mare onto Aubiose which has worked REALLY well for an extremely messy mare on our yard... There's also an older gelding (he's 27) who does very well on Easibed.

Agree with fihunt, I put my two on Aubiose after 8 miserable years on shavings then straw, and I blinking wish Id done it years ago.

Takes me 20 mins to do each bed, used to take me an hour and a half, AND the beds are way nicer at the end of it.

The bed is so stable, it doesnt get kicked around, and its much more supportive for my big gelding, and 6x as absorbant as shavings for my very very wet mare.

It costs more than shavings per bale but I use miles less (about a third!) so I save money, and it also rots down vv quickly.

Its fabulous!

I have just swopped to ecobed (cardboard) & very pleased with it. My lad can be quite messy but it seems very economical.
