Ben Fogles Animal Clinic

When my parents said we were going to have Annie put down, I wept like that.
I had tears streaming down my face when they told her :( that poor poor woman.

Thankfully, the vet suggested something else and she's still with us!

Just watching it now :( I cried too, absolutely awful. Such a beautiful horse, cannot imagine how the owners felt. Im not sure if that was me I could go and say goodbye like she did.

Awww how heartbreaking :( The horrible thing is they never get to say goodbye to the horse (not that it's not horrible anyway) but seeing your horse in that state.. I remember last year's had a mare who was distraught after losing her foal :'(

My old mare's colon moved to the wrong place and built up a lot of gas behind it, and found a lot of sand as she drank dirty puddles of water in the field instead of from the tank. It's so weird seeing what she had done, I just can't imagine what the owner was going through. I'm just so glad she lived..it sends shivers down my spine seeing what can happen with colic, and especially as I was ready to go home but decided something was not right.

I cried when I watched it :( I can't imagine what it feels like to through something like that. They were a truly an amazing pair with an unbreakable bond, the horse turned a hoof to anything and was such a sweet horse in the stable. RIP Laddie, run free x

I can't watch it, I flicked onto a repeat the other morning and I saw the stables and noticed it was leahurst and burst into tears.. My boy was put down there on the 28th July this year- went in as a suspected colic, they half diagnosed him with Grass sickness (couldn't be sure as he had complications meaning they couldn't operate) and when they had no option but to operate they found their diagnosis to be true... his whole large intestine had begun to decompose :( <3

So sorry RGG. Iv just watched it as new I would cry my eyes out so waited till OH was at work. I know of the girl whos horse it was which made it all harder to watch. Laddie I hope you are watching over your mum today out hunting. RIP big lad. Hugs to Amy x x x

Beautiful horse - hopefully she can take a little comfort in knowing she did everything she could and that it was a clear decision - the amount of damage was huge.

Quite. When I saw the damage my first words were "s***". Poor horse. Its crazy how quickly something like that can occur.

I had forgotten it was on, hubby called me in when they took the horse into surgery, I said to him then, I don,t think this will turn out well. So very sad I felt awful for the poor girl that owned him!
I had tears running down my face and even my OH welled up! Wish I had not watched it as I thought about it all evening afterwards.:(

It was so very sad, and heartbreaking when she kissed him on the nose. Huge condolences for her, he was such a magnificent animal x

Just watched this and I have sobbed. I'm glad I wasn't allowed to see mine when he was pts cos looking at that poor girl kissing him as he lay on the floor was appallingly sad. :frown3:
