Thank you for that, not too sure what is happening yet. Had a text from seller today saying she had someone there with the asking price for him, she has put him off until friday, but will need to know by friday at 9pm if we definately want him. I am not sure how we can give her that answer when we obviously wouldnt of had him vetted by then. So now I dont know what to do.

If you like him, put down a deposit subject to vetting :)

but then if he doesnt pass the vetting(not saying he wont) we wont have him and she would of lost a definate sale from this other person.

Maybe you could book the vet for tomorrow after you've tried him so you can cancel if you don't want him and get him vetted subject to buying without letting seller down if you do want him? I don't know if it's too late to book a vet but worth a shot :) Good luck :D

Please don't let this pressure you into agreeing to buy him when you aren't sure. The last horse I got I went for becuase the owner said she had someone coming in a lorry from birmingham the next morning to see him!! It made me feel like I had to make a decision then and there without going home to think about it or getting a 2nd opinion.

I'm not saying the seller you are dealing with is trying to pressure you into buying, but just be careful. Don't let them sway your decision with their situation - make sure you are happy the horse is right for you and your OH.

To be fair, I dont think she is trying to pressurise me into anything, she said she just wanted to be honest, which I respect.

He sounds a sweetie, just do what you feel comfortable with, if you feel like you're being rushed into something, speak up.

And have FUN!!
You always have us here for support x

*'splodes with excitement*

Do you know her then??
it just seems that, if you don't know her, she doesn't owe you anything so wy would she put off someone who was there with the asking price? I'm sorry, may be way off the mark but sounds like a little bit of pressure........I'd be cautious> Good luck though!!!!!

What will be will be, don't worry about it and don't feel pressure into liking him, if you don't feel that click with him and the other person wants him then i am sure they're not going to suddenly disappear with their money. However, if all goes well and you do feel you like him the the seller has been fair to you giving you the opportunity to view him. If you have him vetted and for some reason he isn't passed as suitable for what you want (can't see why he wouldn't be) then the other prospective purchaser still has the opportunity to buy him.

Don't worry about it, you don't have to make a decision after all, you'll know if it is right or if it's not.

I have just spoken to the lady who was selling him, and after a long chat we have decided between us that maybe he is not the one. He has been offered a lovely home at a driving stables in Jersy, and its driving and hacking that he enjoys. So, thank you all for your best wishes and help, and I wish winston the best of luck in his new home.

I think this shows that you are a very big and mature person for making that decision, especially seeing how excited you (and eveyrone else on the forum!) was about it.

But it means the horse for you is out there somewehre, just gotta go find it now !:)

Not to worry, Benson21. You'll know when the right one comes along. It's absolutely best to take your time and make sure you get a horse you'll love. And we'll all enjoy following your search! Good luck!

There is still others out there, so have a big glass of wine (or whatever your tipple!) and we'll all get back on horsequest/mart/trader for you!!

Hi guys we have been chatting loads since our thread :D I was honest that this place had come up however we never discussed what we would do about tomorrow if she was happy. I would have no idea if he would pass a vetting because I have never had him vetted however have also never had a problem with him(has back, teeth, and saddle done but no more). The more we spoke the more we felt that he wouldnt be suitable. Long story short he is a very XXW and with Benson21's back as it is she may not even be able to ride him . I also couldnt comment about him doing dressage coz I have never schooled him. Its such a shame but Benson there is the one out there for you. Like you I had my one and lost him (Woody ex racer) and still feel very empty. x

Benson21 – I did actually wonder if the lovely Winston and others alike would be a bit on the broad side especially if you have a recovering knee/leg injury + your back too.

It is a shame that when you view any horses that you are unable to just sit on them just to get the feel/broadness.

Anyway – I wonder if these tick the right boxes for you. I realise that some are a bit over £3K but you never know!
