My Horse has quite sensitive skin and I have an elasticated V check breastplate. The elastic nips him so as a temporary fix I have adjusted a girth sleeve to fit over the elastic. Meanwhile, I am looking for a new one. Been looking at the 5 point ones as the elastic is only higher up and the sheepskin looks like it would hold what is elastic off the skin. Are they really worth the money? Other one I'd looked at was Kieffer which says the elastic inserts are higher up but not very clear in photo where? I would like elastic somewhere, just not round the front of the shoulder. I was intrigued by the ones many folk had at Olympia. Like a hunter one but fastened to the girth straps rather than the D rings but never seen then anywhere.

Any thoughts? Thanks!

I have a 5 point breastplate which was originally intended for xc (had planned to continue using normal hunter breatplate at home as easier to clean). My horse has decided to be a diva this year and her 'work' breastplate has rubbed her on the shoulder and the rings at the top, so we're now using the 5 point all the time.

The sheepskin does keep the elastic away from the skin to a degree, but only around that area - it does touch the horse at the top where strap passes over the top of the neck. Depends where your horse is being rubbed I suppose. Nuumed do hunter breastplate sleeves if that would be an alternative see here (scroll to bottom of page)

The 5 points ones are fab, I have a jeffries one which is gorgeous. The sheepskin does keep it off the skin, my horse gets rubs from his reins, and has never had this rub him. Whats your V check breastplate? Maybe looking to ehome my Jeffries...
