In your opinion, what are the best competition breeches? (For a tall-ish dressage/show jumping person?)

I'm talking, top of the range, premium quality, last-10-years breeches?

I really want to buy the Pikeur Candela but am whimping out at the £175 price tag! Ariat Olympia's look good for £150.

Any other recommendations welcomed?

I think you need to go and try some on really.
I had to give up on my fave Cavallo Chagals as they got so stained. Replaced with Pikeur luganas and I just hate the fit, they feel like they are falling down all the time and the elastic in the waistband is sewn on weirdly so you have a rough edge against your skin. I bought them as a bit of an emergency purchase and will not have any more :p

The Olympias are nice but come up big.

I like my Montar breeches - they look and feel quality and were 'only' about 70 quid. I also really like my Noble Outfitters breeches.

Pikeur Candelas are worth every penny. Keep an eye on eBay, you can get them for just over £100 sometimes.

Used to be a Pikeur Lugana girl but the high waist and fit of the candelas cannot be beaten, especially if you're tall!

Love my La Valencio. £70-£85 price tag. Full seat. Love them. Current pair well used and nearly 2 seasons old and look perfect.

Pikeur Candela are amazing, love the high waist and fit.

I am tall and the Pikeur Lugana are ok for day to day but the waist is too low for me really and they do up over my hips- not a patch on the Candela!

Ariats are ok if you are straight up and down in my opinion.
