Looking for some magnetic leg wraps for my 22 year old TB. To be used over night when in the stable.

I'd like some that are warm as well as magnetic. I like the look of the premier equine ones, and have heard good things about them, but are there any better options out there?

I’ve got the Premier Equine ones with ordinary liners and they’re good. I’ve just bought the magnetic liners. They’re going to be too hot for summer though.

I used to borrow a pair of boots from someone that had a sort of mesh material but they’re not made anymore.

I have bioflow boots which are really good. Another has eq streamz which are also good but don't do well with being taken on and off as the Velcro gets loose. He lost one in the field the other day and it can't be found

Borrowed a pair of pe wraps from a chum. Fine for winter but to hot for summer, plus silly horse has torn the bottom of the wrap so I need to buy her a new pair.

That said the horse wearing them initially went from huge puffy legs to normal legs in 2 days - 20yr old tb, and the other one- also 20yr tb x - had cellulitis and the magnets have taken away the last of the swelling.

I have the equilibrium stable chaps, like the veredus ones the magnets Velcro in but I have had to buy replacements as they tend to get a brittle and snap.

I tend to save them for the winter and have a fetlock strap in the summer, as he tends to suffer more with stiffness when its colder.

Bioflow are good as they have central reverse polarity. the way the magnets are inlaid against the main magnet which appears twice in each boot provides a strong magnetic field and has three poles - alternating poles. When blood passes under the force field it gives an affect which agitates the cells producing a warming affect and increasing blood supply to the damaged area. Its patented with this particular design and they also use neodynium magnets which are the strongest catergory with one of the highest guass readings (the measurement of magnetic field). If you go onto the bioflow website it will explain a lot better than I can. I'm not a scientist and don't claim to know how it works, but I have noticed a difference in my mare's stiffness (has spavin which is treated with medicating joint) and it works, I notice a difference when she has them on to when she doesn't in her gait and general demeanour. She's had them about four years now and wears them on alternating legs overnight in the winter and in the day during the summer. So they do provide some comfort to her. They also keep her legs down when they get filled but then most boots will do the same thing without magnets due to mild compression of the leg. all I can tell you is my own experience which is positive.

before buying look at the guage (measurement of magnets) and type.

There are generally two types - the ones that need a north and south, and those that act as force field all around.

Generally those north and south, aren't as strong but have more padding - if your wanting warmth, Whereas the others are more powerful don't have a lot of padding.

Example PE - are north and south and not that strong, whereas broadpod and bio flow are a lot stronger without all the padding

Hope that makes sense!

Thank you. That does make sense. Is there enough difference between the two to matter if that makes sense?

Warmth would be nice but not essential; I would rather have something that helps him as much as it can do.

I assume i could add leg wraps over the top of thinner/stronger ones if I did need the warmth?

Hi, I use Brodpod magnetic wraps. Unlike neoprene they are totally breathable and seem very powerful. Been getting great results with filled legs.

I have Harpley ones like thermatex ones and they don't sweat http://www.horseandrider.co.uk/180-harpley
