Just wondering if the more expensive types of bridle are as good as they make out? Such as Stuben etc?
What bridle do you use? Now I know I need a flash looking to get a proper flash bridle with nice reins - my rubber ones are rubbish as rubber stops too soon!!

Stuuben are defo worth their money, I also have a GFS bridle, 7 years old and looks as good as new
Whatever make of bridle you get if you look after it, it will last. Flexalan is a god send!!

ditto this. I think it's not the name that is important, it's the quality that is essential.

I have some very old Jeffries bridles that still look good as new, my Sabre bridle is brilliant as well.

Ive got a kieffer snaffle and a Jeffries double, both are lovely quality and have lasted, the kieffer gets used about five or six times a week and quite often gets sweaty but comes up good as new after a quick wipe, cost me 80 quid I think (sorry i haven't got a pound sign) about six years ago.

Stubben or Sabre for me.

Although I do have a Jefferies I have had about 12 years and it still looks as good as new after a scrub up!

I have a Passier for best (was a sale bargain £60) and Harry Dabbs (another sale bargain £55) and an English Leather one made at local saddlers (about £75 10 years ago). They are all really nice to ride with, lovely supple leather from the start and with regulare attention/cleaning etc should last as well.

My oldest is 10 years old and has had a real hammering and yet still looks great.

I have two Albion KB comfort bridles -absolutely lovely, and the Nubuck reins are the best thing since sliced bread, - BUT for nearly 200 quid each, I can't imagine they are the best value ever.

Stubben's are the best, I've had a Sabre and an Elevator in the past and the leather has looked worn within a year or 2 of work. My Stubben in 4 years old and still looks pretty new considering how often it's used!

Some cheaper brands are ok but I have heard quite a few times that the robinsons bridles don't last long. The ones from decathlon are apparently decent, though. I do prefer english leather (seems to always be softer) and 2nd to that is european leather. I would personally steer clear of imported leather, usually means it brought in from outside europe and a lot of it doesn't last long - it's like the difference between buying italian clothing and clothes from primark (italian might well be european but tends to last whereas primarks clothes don't take long to fall apart, that's if they weren't faulty to start with LOL)

I have a Stubben CTD, which is a slightly cheaper Stubben than normal but still great quality. It is lovely, soft leather, decent price as well.
I'd love an Albion KB bridle....

I would love to know if anyone knows why this bridle justifies 645 quid???! There's expensive then there's horrific!

I do think nice brands like Stuuben etc are worth their money as if they are looked after will last for years.

crazy money for a bridle - I could buy a cheap horse for that amount lol

Stubben CTD cost £103.00 black soft padded lovely, can't recommend it enough. Also Jefferies padded bridle cost £160.00 nine years ago, had lots of use and still brilliant.
