Best mobile phone for horsey people?

Another vote for Samsung. I also have the B2100 in the red and black rubberised case and it has proven indestructible.

I have also found I can slot into the harness of my skull cap, and am regularily seen galloping along out hunting whilst conducting a conversation!

The camera is pretty basic, but that would be my only complaint.

I have a samsung Galaxy s2.
Dropped it a million times out hacking, and its still as good as new! Bit big though to go in your jodpur pockets!

Samsung E2121B :D It's very basic but the sturdiest phone I've had since the days of the Nokia 3310! My mum got sick of me dropping my phones around the yard so she went to Carphone Warehouse and asked for the sturdiest phone they had :o I've had it a year now and it's been dropped and chucked around plenty of times since I work on a yard. There is barely a scratch on it and it still works perfectly!

I've got a Motorola Defy that is specifically designed to be a lot tougher than usual smartphones, and it's been fab. It's been dropped in puddles, off horses, left in a field overnight and is still absolutely fine.

Mine was the victim of a hit and run and the screen survived!! Unfortunately the back casing cracked and the battery was damaged so that was that but still, any phone that's not in pieces after a car runs over it is impressive!

Unfortunately they aren't the most modern smart phones, relatively speaking, and they've not been good sellers. Mine is okay but the technology is not top quality - small memory, glitchy operations, iffy battery life - even with Google products which is annoying since they own Motorola now! Last I heard the Defy was going to be phased out - I guess, like everything else, "indestructible" is not actually good for repeat business!

That said, I'm quite attached to mine. It does cool stuff, it is high tech enough do business on (a boon to me), and it really is very sturdy. I can even use the touch screen with gloves on!

Another one with an iPhone - complete with an almost indestructible case ;)

As to using with gloves on - rarely use it when riding, and of I need to answer a call I use my nose . Can make calls and send texts using Sirius (voice activated) :D

Another samsung fan here, mine has been abused including being thrown against a brick wall (accidently :o ) and it is still alive!

My Blackberry bold is not too bad, i hate the phone but its taking its fair share of phone bashing. I also use the hunter welly pouch as you can fit your phone and keys in it and its waterproof!
