Best place to sell saddles?..

Ebay, Preloved or Gumtree.

Ebay is blooming expensive now though with all the fees, preloved is free, and i`ve never sold on gumtree but do browse on there a far bit.

Tack shops are good too, as locally people can at least try it on their horses to check fit ;)

What saddles are you trying to sell ?

I have used Ebay in the past, but unless they are a top brand, they don't seem to make their money, and the fees are high. This year I have sold several good saddles on Preloved, some sat there for a month or two, some went quickly, but they all sold for more or less what I wanted for them. You do have to put up with complete timewasters on there (do you still have this saddle for sale?, how can I pay you? and you never hear another word) but a well worded advert with 3 good pictures will usually do the trick. :)

I have tried ebay but no bidders just fees to pay, so lost out there :(
They are on preloved and gumtree at the moment, but will try local tack shops, thanks! :)
Trying to sell an 18" jump saddle and a 17.5 wintec

Tried ebay but ended up losing money as it didn't sell and just ended up with the fees to pay :(
They are both on preloved so will keep them up there with fingers crossed for now. Have had a good share of time wasters, even some from canada..
Thanks for your reply, shall hang in there on preloved :)

I found a lot of people don't have the confidence to buy and fit themselves, so the two I have for sale are currently with a local saddler to sell for me. They have been on Preloved for months and months and although I have had a couple of enquiries, nothing more than that, and I reduced the price twice.

I'm getting brain-ache looking for the right saddle! - messaging people on ebay and preloved and getting no answers back whatsoever. Just annoying really. Have also noticed the price of saddles has dropped with only a handful of the popular brands commanding higher prices.

Yeah seems I'm not getting very far :( Will try my saddler, thanks :D

Guess it's at both ends then :( You thought people would reply as they want to sell!! Yeah I'm not asking anything extortionate for mine but have already dropped the price. Good luck saddle hunting

I've just sold two on Preloved. One sale went smoothly I posted to a far away buyer! The second went to local people who have returned it twice due to being too narrow?!

Don't know where abouts in Lincs you are (it`s a big place lol) ... But if you`re anywhere near Lincoln there are a couple of places that take your saddles and sell on your behalf :)

has anyone tried equine car boot sales? I have 3 saddles to sell, one of them a john whitaker pony saddle. I've been put off ebay with horror stories (though have bought and sold other stuff ok on there). thinking of pre-loved and tried Chester saddlery which closed so I picked them up. I may try the guy at Edgemere? I see the car boot sale dates coming up and wonder if its worth a try? anyone any experience? sorry not meaning to hijack, just another option but I cant recommend as I don't know.

I recently sold mine on eBay. Was 6 months old and only lost £70 on it from buying it new so I was quite lucky. I watched a lot before selling mine but they all seemed to be selling dirt cheap or no bids. eBay charge 10% after the sale which is a bit hefty! Preloved is really good and if you keep updating it goes to the top of the list :)
