Best seat saver for hacking?

Whizza this is on my YHL list as I want to see one in the flesh but can you tell me whether it is padded and soft enough to save the old seat bones as well as being good at sticking the old backside to the saddle as I need both.
 
Yes it's very soft. It's made from a kind of silicon material, it's about an 1/2 an inch thick. Lovely and comfy. My behind has never been sore using it and all I really do is hacking, about an hour to 2 hours a day usually.

Hold you in very well too. My horse spooked sideways the other day and I didn't slip out the saddl at all. She's had an excited bronc too and I stayed put :)
 
I've had a Heather Moffat seat saver for years which I've now replaced with the Feedmark seat saver. They are exactly the same but the feed mark version is cheaper and instead of having to choose between black or brown it is black one side and brown the other side. Both are very comfortable and hard wearing.

Can't compare to gel versions as I've never tried them.

I bought a Heather Moffat seat saver fairly cheap off E-bay. HATE the bleddi thing with a vengeance; the friend who rides my boy occasionally loves it however, which is why its still in the tack room.

It is the most uncomfortable, nay sheer blimmin torture, thing I have ever ridden on. Like sandpaper on the lady-bits (say no more, blushing discreetly). I can only do 10 mins riding on the blessed thing before I'm hankering to get off and walk.

If you wanna know why you can always get a HM seat saver on e-bay........
 
Mmm,glad you mentioned this as being a woman of a certain age, it's exactly those parts I want to protect, seat bones are fine. Have you found anything more comfortable?

I have a le mieux sheepskin seat saver. It was a Christmas present last year and still looks like new despite fairly regular use. I had a HM one prior to that but felt too far away from the horse if that makes sense. It didn't hurt my lady bits though! A friend had one of the avacello gel seat savers and I didn't like it at all, it was too grippy so I guess it depends what you want one for, cushioning or grip.
 
I rode in a friends saddle who has the avacallo gel out one and have to say i found it too sticky! My breeches stuck to it and chaffed my legs!
 
fgs don't combine the gel out with silicone seat breeches :o . I find it comfortable with fabric or leather seats though.
I let mine get a bit dusty and then it doesn't glue you down as much. I do recommend it though!
