Best shock absorbing/pressure distribution saddle pad??

As the title says really...

What saddle pad would you say was the most shock absorbing and the best at distributing?

Was chatting to my local saddler and he was singing the praises of these:

And for growing/developing horses these (you can add/remove an internal shimmy):

But at £50 are they worth the money or are there better pads on the market?

*Not that I need ANOTHER saddle pad - must not spend more money on things I don't need!*
 
Have one of those already (albeit on loan to a friend). Just hate faffing with layering pads up (and its longer than my saddle so the black pokes out the front and back of my brown saddle and looks a bit scruffy - yes I am vein!

I know - I don't really need any more but plan is to crack on, especially jumping, so its a nice excuse

Have looked at those, though they don't do navy or burgundy (being ultra fussy again!) but may go for a nice white one.

Curious to know what the difference is between prolite and other similar pads (like ones above) in terms of pressure etc.
 
EEEEKKK!!!

I am feeling majorly guilty now! Have been meaning to get in touch about returning your stuff - it got as far as the porch from the yard and the girths have been through the wash ready for their return, but then completely forgot all over again!

As for the vanity thing, I *think* your prolite is the wide version? Hence why it sticks out.... I'm pretty sure the standard fitting ones are much neater (I had several once upon a time!

Don't worry - don't need it urgently. Am about on and off over the weekend, probably anytime sat would be good but no worries if another time is easier.

How are things with you? Did your rebuild go ok in the end? How are you getting on with F, did you get a WOW sorted in the end?

Yes - I think it probably is the wide version so that would probably explain it (I really should be blonde!). Just wanting to double up with T's workload now being upped and more asked of her, especially as her shape will probably change a lot and would rather not have saddle tweaked every 3-4 weeks at £70 a pop!
