Best waterproof breeches/trousers

I have decided to treat myself to some decent waterproof trousers :D

Been looking on treehouse online and like the look of some of them. At the moment not too bothered about price. I have a pair of rambo chaps atm and dont like the soggy bum feeling or the fact they ride up the leg -

Are the breeches any good that you can wear boots over the top - doesnt the water just slide down inside? :confused: http://www.treehouseonline.co.uk/product/166


Can anyone recommend some - prefably that you have experience of being able to ride easily as well in them, and not have your leg shooting foward

For winter I have the padded mountain horse ones that are a bit like ski pants - these are great and grippy on the inner. For summer I just have some Helly Hansen sailing waterproofs that are thin and just fold them up and stick them in my boots - my boots are tight fitting so I don't get water in.
 
For summer/warmer weather I bung on a pair of riding tights (I've got the "Equetech" ones). They're fantastic; just wick away any moisture and you don't get that horrible gunky feeling of sitting in a puddle.

For winter: I wear the Rambo riding over-trousers (with the Equetech tights or a cotton pair of leggings underneath). Mega warm and cosy plus you don't get that bundled up feeling.
 
I like the Paul Carberry ones best but they are very expensive. Great fit and stickability though!

The other ones I have are the Frost of Bawtry ones which are less than half the price of the Carberry ones, have a full seat and again are a good fit, but the sizing is a little on the small side so beware.

I wear mine all day long so they have to be practical, comfy and good to ride in :)
 
ornella prosperi are the best, no zips/poppers on the leg so you can wear them in boots or under chaps. They are apparently being discontinued so on sale atm :(
The paul carberry ones are showerproof not waterproof....it makes a difference!
Apparently the jomulti ones are the next best thing since bread came sliced but not tried them myself.

for soggy days out hunting and even though they have zips etc i can still get them inside my long boots. Everyone has said they look just like normal joddies, not waterproofs.

You'd be amazed at the amount of water my Paul Carberry's have kept out :D

I've not tried the Jomiluti ones either, but apparently one of the advantages of them is that they don't rustle like some waterproofs do. Having said that, I don't ride youngsters in waterproofs anyway, I'd rather get wet than slide off :D All my wet weather "breeches" are fitted so the rustling is not too noticeable, it's more the overtrouser type things which make you sound like a tent going for a walk ;)

I've also got some Ri-Dry beige ones for hunting, which may be similar to yours Cuppatea? They weren't the cheapest but they've stopped me going home early on several occasions :)
 
The best I ever had were £12 from Robinsons! They were fuzzy lined and totally waterproof!! Unfortunately, they don't do them any more :(

I still have them, but they are way too big now (weight loss)!
 
i went to matalan a few years ago and found some really thin skiing trousers! some where really thick but got the thinnest ones they had! they were about £25 but are really good, very warm and totally waterproof! defo the best i've had!

Thanks for mention the BLE over-trousers - we do them in taupe, which you have I am guessing and in navy and black. They are more like trousers rather than waterproofs so cut that way - but I have never had a pair back for being leaky, so hopefully that speaks for itself. Also well priced - I hope - at £60 per pair
